So in case no one has explained to you, this song was a huge hit in China. It was taken from an idea from a video game (hence the video game sounds) where a young boy sets out to rescue a princess from a dragon, save the kingdom, and hopefully get permission from the king to marry the princess. It's funny because everyone has very long names. In the first chorus, the boy introduces himself to the king saying "I am called - Dala Bengba Ban De Beidi Boduo Bilu Weng" The King asks him to say it again and then repeats it. In the second chorus, the dragon and boy repeat the dragon's name "Kun Tu Ku Ta Ks Ti Kao Te Su Wa Xi La Song" The whole thing is a tongue twister of long names repeated at the end telling the king how the boy defeated the dragon and rescued the princess who also has a long name and is from a town that has a long name. Zhou Shen performed I believe 9 songs throughout this particular TV performance show (during Covid). Each performance showed a different artistic side and the audience and the contestants were blown away with his talent. What I love about Zhou Shen or Charlie is that he is constantly challenging himself and growing as an artist. I also like that he does not feel the need to do vocal gymnastics. Some of my favorite songs are the ones that are sung in a heartfelt and simple manner just letting the ethereal quality and tone of his voice seep into your bones as you listen.

@@throga this is the same singing competition that dimash (SOS) you're react couple month ago, although that came from different year. Other people in the video is also competitor, recommend checking them. Personally I recommend from super vocal group in this competition.

@@Yenhongsin77 Zhou Shen actually was on the same season of Super Vocal as the Super Vocal Boys group participating in I Am Singer for this competition. I think Charlie was very near the end before he was eliminated, if I am remembering correctly (been a few years since I watched it.) Super Vocal Boys were the last remaining of Super Vocal. Super Vocal was a competition to find the best Bel Canto voices. Dimash actually was a judge on that season of Super Vocal for an episode (which is why he appeared as a guest singing with Super Vocal Boys (Queen Medley) on I Am Singer. Heh... tangled web.

The first time I heard Charlie Zhou Shens ,I was Washing dishes in the kitchen and my TV was on in the living room and I heard this magnificent voice singing, I stopped what I was doing and ran into the lliving room to see who was singing and that’s when I saw Charlie Zhou Shen singing I immediately fell in love with his voice. To do it like how zhou shen does it would mean either a massive amount of training AND you would need the GIFT to be able to reach the notes as well as voice quality. Close to near impossible for someone to duplicate tone for tone, pitch for pitch... In a way you can say his voice is one gifted by the heavens to have an ethereal quality and he put hardwork to control it.

Zhou Shen is amazing. He really good at using vocal position or mouth shape to change his voice. He recently sang "I Am a Star" for Disney's Centenary Animation. The English version was completed by 28 people while the Chinese version was completed by one person, Zhou Shen who transformed more than 20 voices and completed all the harmonies. Maybe you can listen to it and enjoy it.

I have been waiting for you to react to Zhou Shen and glad that you enjoyed it. :) If you want to see more of him, I would recommend in your third reaction to listen to one with a totally different style from Memory and Dalabengba - “Ring the door bell and listen myself” or “Moonlight”. The former is dark and Zhou Shen delivered it with a lot of amazing vocal expressions; the latter also showcases his amazing skills in singing but more importantly he is not having the skills to overtake the emotional expression in this song. It is heartfelt and I have repeated Moonlight a hundred times myself and still cannot get enough of it.

Zhou Shen is a such an amazing and excellent singer. He worths being heared by more people. I think the more you listen to his songs the more you will love him as he likes a huge treasure that can always give you a surprise. For clarification, he didn't use any voice effect in this song or any song he performs different voices. Highly recommend his signature song 《Big Fish》. And I recommend a KZbin channel called "Charlie Zhou Shen North America Fan Club"，they posted many Zhou Shen's performances with English subtitles which can help you understand the lyrics of the songs.

The song was originally sung by a VocalVoid. It was a last minute change of choice for this competition, so had only few hours of rehearsal after rearrangement. The names of the Hero/ Princess / Drangon/ Baby. and Town are very long, more than 12 words. Maybe could react to " Cowboy very busy " , a duet " Laughing song" and his signature song "Big Fish " ( which he does alot of different variations endings ). Also 2 duets " Doomsday Spaceship and " Cassini " (about the end cycle of the satellite ). Last two was written and performed by Tang Hanxiao , one is a live performance, the other MV with NASA clips

Dalabengba song was a last min change during his rehearsal of an original song he was supposed to sing. If I am correct , Zhou Shen ( Charlie Zhou) did the changes of the original Dalabengba song in abt 36 hours before he performed. Given such a short time he was able to come out with this song and performed so incredibly good, I am totally totally 💯 incredibly amazed at his talent. He had a tough beginning of his singing career and now his talent has been recognized, I am really really happy for him. Beside being a talented artist and now a very famous person, he is still a very humble and down to earth person with a very kind heart.

For your information to tell you a bit of his background. He got vocally bullied a lot when he was young because his voice didn't change during puberty. He even tried to tone down his voice to avoid those verbally bullied. He went to study dentistry in Ukhine but because of the language barrier and also because all of them were in medical terms and also not his mother tongue, he needed to go through the translation every single night and finally he changed to study Classical music there. He was graduated in Classical music in Ukraine. He can sing over at least 12 different languages. He also can sing over so many different voices in one song, one of them which is the one you guys reacted to today. He is a very funny, polite, and very humble guy. His fans are all over the world, He also Broadcast live concerts online every single Birthday to his fans even though he doesn't like to celebrate his own birthday but he has done it only for his fans for over 9 years by now. In my own opinion, a lot of songs can heal your body but not your soul. Zhou Shen's song can do both especially can heal your soul completely. Zhou Shen embodies every song he performs. Just one of the things i find fascinating about him is that reactors (and I've watched several) often don't speak a word of Chinese but it doesn't matter.
