Please take note that before Stell did his own rendition of All By Myself, he had already sang three songs prior: All I Ask By Adele, Defying Gravity and his own debut single, Room. And according to Stell, Mr. David Foster surprised him when he asked him to do a dry run of All Myself while he's about to do sound check for the three songs that he was going to perform for his front act that night. Like there's no proper rehearsal but Mr. DF asked him if he wanted to sing the song that same night. Stell did a great job singing ABM despite a short notice. He's truly one phenomenal performer.

apart from that.he is already from his showroom to promote his debut single on june15 right after he performed at AOS tv sunday show performed his debut song room on jun16 then at jun17 straight headed to agusan for sv19 performnce and then on june18 its for david concert.imagine that stell has no proper rest for the jampack events and perf and also he had not yet feeling well during that night fron getting sick..but he srill nailed it.

Stell was a last-minute addition to the show as the front act. He was just supposed to sing 3 songs - All I Ask by Adele (but he did the Bruno Mars version), Defying Gravity, and his solo song ROOM. But during his rehearsal/sound check, David Foster asked him on stage while DF was rehearsing and asked Stell to try to sing All By Myself. Stell was so confused but agreed and DF guided him to the arrangement and Stell was just basically trying to sing along without much effort, doing falsetto and all as he doesn't know why they're doing that coz it's not included in his set list. After that, DF asked him if he'd like to sing it. Still confused, Stell answered, "if it's okay with you Sir". Stell finished performing his 3 songs (being the front act), and then he was called back again by DF during the main show. DF went on to challenge Stell that he only has one shot at nailing the note (even showing a clip of Celine Dion hating on DF for giving her the impossible note). Stell was obviously very nervous and pressured but it was a big opportunity he can't let past. And he NAILED IT! So proud of our boy!

Stell even said he was rehearsing some parts of the song on stage while the band was playing the instrumental part of All By Myself. He was so nervous because he never had proper rehearsal for that particular performance. David only present to him the arrangement of the song during soundcheck, then the rest was up to Stell's ability. Glad he nailed that perf. We're so proud of him❤

It is also worthy to note that Stell and SB19 had a concert the previous night and flew back to Manila the morning of DF concert. I was there and I still tear up whenever I see videos of this magnificent performance. I felt like the biggest winner myself as soon as he hit that moneynote and the crowd went wild. Quite an experience. And the backstory if this performance makes it even more special. Like what the others are saying here in the comment section, this performance was not a part of the show's repertoire. Stell was asked to try it during soundcheck for his opening performance, was asked to study the last part of the song, and was asked to perform it for the main show. I was nervous and praying for him during the performance. That's our Stell right there, gosh I'm crying again, I should shut up.

Naku Te sinabi mo pa, at halos biglaan lang yan. Kasi di kasama sa pinractice nya yan. Bago mag start yung show lang sinabi ni David sa kanya na kakantahin nya yan. Wala silang pormal na practice, isang pasada lang ginawa nila at di pa bumirit non kasi akala lang nya casual lang na pinakanta sa kanya, Yun pala yun na mismo yung parang pinapractice. Stell’s vocal training background is actually not that long. He knew he could sing but he did join Singing competitions because he was so into Dancing in his younger years. he joined dance competitions instead that leads him to SB19 where he got the proper training. He’s the Lead Dancer, Main choreographer and main vocalist of the group. SB19 is only 5 years old.

The performance starts with David showing a video clip of Celine hating him for the ridiculously high notes then David told Stell, "You only have one chance tonight, Stell". Stell wasn't supposed to sing this song, its not part of the show repertoire or program. David just saw Stell waiting for his turn to rehearse for his opening act. Stell is to sing 3 songs - Defying gravity, All I Ask and his latest solo hit, Room but David asks him if he'd like to try All By Myself, so David briefly walked him through the arrangement and after that he said, "Would you like to sing it on the show?" Stell, though puzzled and nervous agreed. So, no preparations or rehearsals for this song. He was invited to sing it right then and there on that day by David. There were interviews about it.

What's more amazing is that Stell's a male. And unlike the other singer who can also sing this song, Stell's voice has clarity in it, it's high-pitch but smooth and rounded, it's not thin, and most of all his lower, middle and high registers are pleasant to the ears. And he thought he is just a front act until in the sound check David on the piano he was called on stage again and ask would you like to try All By Myself?....and he said will I sing it tonight? David said will see and they did it a couple of times, Stell still confuse was told Ok you will sing it tonight. You will have your once chance. That was when he started praying all the way to that time he was called back.

I watched the fancams a hundred times and I’m still in awe, especially the power of his voice. I have always been awed by how far he holds the mic and yet, his voice still cuts through. what's so great about this is that this song is not even on the setlist. Stell is the opening act of DF's concert. Stell was a topnotch dancer before he joined SB19. He used to represent the Philippines in dance contests in various countries, along with his dance group, and won these contests. Then Josh (also of SB19) joined Stell's dance group. When they auditioned and qualified to be members of SB19, they were primarily dancers and visuals. But because of extensive VOCAL TRAINING AND COACHING, both of them became stellar singers. i hope that this anecdote will encourage non-singers to enroll in vocal trainings, like what the two of you offer.
