Thank you so much for this info. (36 F) I was just diagnosed with ET with MPL mutation, which the mutation was detected at a very low level. All my blood work is fine aside from platelets 500+ and a bit low iron saturation

I am anemic for over a decade now, never had thrombocytosis but in sept my platelets level was 671 - essential thrombocytosis. In March, went to emergency for pain (thought I was passing kidney stones) they performed abdominal CT Scan, kidney stones were very small so much so that it shouldn't have been an issue. I overheard doctors saying call her family doctor to follow-up immediately, results are abnormal. I ignored then recently got ultrasound which confirmed two masses that do not look benign. The only thing that is bothering me or effecting me regularly is not being able to concentrate and fatigue. My doctor doesn't want to play around with medication or supplements, how can I cope with fatigue until I get the surgery done?

Hello fellow MedEd KZbinr! The narration for the majority of my "PowerPoint style" videos are recorded with the Samson C01U USB studio condenser mic, mounted to a stand and with a cheap pop filter. But even with a few tweaks, I've never been satisfied with the audio quality. So I just switched over to using the RODE NT3 XLR mic for this and the past several videos, along with a better echo-reducing solution. The problem with an XLR mic is that it can't be plugged directly into the computer. For my "live action" videos, I use the RODE NT3 plugged into a Zoom H4N digital recorder, but since that's cumbersome, I've been trying out an AudioBox 22VSL audio interface that has an XLR input and USB output. (So NT3 mic plugged into AudioBox 22VSL via XLR, and the 22VSL then plugged into my desktop computer via USB.) I think the audio sounds better than it did previously, but I also could just be imaging it since I'm expecting it to sound better while using more expensive equipment. I am not at all an audio expert, but IMHO, getting good audio is more about the space and post-production than it is about the actual mic. For example, using a pop filter to reduce popping from plosives in speech, reducing echo by sound treatment of the recording space (which can be as simple as lining your desk with some spare towels), and using a noise reduction filter after recording (Audacity is a free program which has one that is good and intuitive to use).

@@StrongMed Hello, sir sorry to interrupt, I am very much admired of your videos and explanations that you provide online on critical concepts in medicine and I saw one of your videos about availability of free notes for your lectures but they are not complete(particularly for EKG interpretation) and I am carving to have those and feeling very difficult to take screenshot of each and every page of your videos. So please help me to get complete notes atleast on EKG interpretation. Hope you understand my difficulty and respond to me,thank you so much❤❤❤❤😍

Don't worry, I'm coming back to it soon. The recent videos on liver disease have proven a bit more popular, so I'm going to finish that series first (just 2 more to go), and then coming back to vWD, qualitative platelet and coagulation disorders.
