I had no idea this was on consoles. Being able to play with the wife changes my willingness to check this out. I played on the Korean servers and enjoyed it a bit so I'll give it another shot.

If only Visionary Realms who is making Pantheon had access to the T&R engine they could make an amazing game. When you play T&R then jump back to Pantheon it’s kind of depressing when you compare the graphics, engine and ability to handle tons of people in a single area.

One thing with the morph system. There is no cast time. You literally just morph into the animal and get increased movement speed. This means the game is inherently a lot more fluid and faster than having a static mount.

I'm more interested in the social aspects and community side of MMORPGs as a roleplayer. Most modern games are MMOnotRPGs, and is just a bunch of people soloing and murderhoboing everything... or if there is a PUG, no one talks and is in a rush to get to the next new shiny or to quickly finish the dungeon. There is no idle chatter/comraderie, no strategy and everything is just flashy set pieces for low attention spans. I wonder if this game is more of the same, or am I out of touch with the modern gamers? This is the reason I still stick to and cherish the older and retro MMORPGs. Somewhere along the way MMORPGs have lost their way and I'm always disappointed on every new one that comes out. I'll probably give T&L a look though but I have super low expectations.

i agree a as well . i tried all free mmorpg and i come to conclusion that all of them are always the same , doing the same errors . i don t know why but in the new mmorpg games i can t focus on the story and the battle sistem is so boring mixed with stupid currency and a lot of items that are useless . there s no thrill to stay with the story or to try to make a unique character , build or strategy , there s no thrill exploring or when you find new items . the crafting sistem is boring . if you try to make a diference between the new mmorpg and WOW or FFXIV you will see is almost the same crap . this are type of games that remind me why diablo 2 was the perfect game with that bad graphic i stil return to that game nowadays , imagine that . i remember tons of game with bad graphic that are way more better than the new ones . why is that tho i don t get it . they lack imagination and skill to make a good mmorpg , maybe money i don t now . but if they lack money do rpg and it s goin to be a better inversion .

It plays really well with a controller. Only the UI is a bit difficult to navigate on it.

Yeah feels like a good game to kickback with a controller, since there's only 12 slottable abilities, you wont feel like you gotta figure out how to bind a billion buttons to your controller. Pretty fun game so far. Better than i thought it would be i usually dislike modern mmos.

No it is not, but it is new, it does work, and it has its own unique spin (turn into a beast). I think however it has a VERY good chance to be successful and find its community which is terrific. As we do not need any more failed cash grabs in the mmo space.....

The years of teases and controversy with T&L lowered my expectations, so maybe that's why I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy this game. I've only got a dozen hours into it, but so far it seems like a solid MMO with nice graphics that belie it's free-to-play status. And NCSoft put in those magically reloading hand crossbows from bg3 so I'm all in;)

Hi i am interested in looking at the game myself, but what puts me off is not knowing the inventory system is it like black desert or Neverwinter? Where you are picking up all these premium stuff that you need to buy keys to open and soon your inventory is full of stuff that you cannot access?

No, so far I haven't seen any of that (you need a key to open this) type shenanigans at all, however there are keys you can purchase with ingame currency not the cash shop, but I haven't even figured out what they are for yet

played it for few hours... got Diablo Immortal flashbacks with all this upgrading, crafting, all the ressource items, dozens of menus and rewards ---i get a headache from this.. did uninstall.. this game is not for me..

It's no way near as predatory as Diablo immortal, the amount of content you get for free is insane, I've been playing for 30 hours and I still feel no need to spend a cent.

Leveling to 50 was quite enjoyable and I enjoyed the world.. but after getting to 50 I just kinda wanted to log off and not feeling like logging in anymore lol. It's just not that exciting or special in general.

@@TheNathanNAPALM good question.. I feel like most of it is the timegating which I didn't look forward to. I can't stand that in any mmo. The auction house being full Lucent is also very weird and unfun to me. Other than that I mostly just care about gameplay and while it's not bad.. the combat isn't amazing either. I'm not saying it's a bad game or anything, but to me there's nothing that special besides maybe the world itself and it just feels kinda "meh" overall and maybe just not for me with timegating. I need to be able to progress as much as I want and when I want.

I love that you level the weapons for your class, like New World. However, what I was disappointed to find out is that I will not be able to level all the weapons like New World, simply because the grind is too much at higher levels. Hopefully it is something they change somehow in the future.

I played during EA. It’s a beautifully crafted work and the animations are so impressive. That said, I just can’t stand the Asian MMOs… the aggressive cash shops, the cute little creatures always following you around, the systems upon systems upon systems, the heavy menu driven systems… I’m not mad at T&L, they made a really neat and beautiful game, and I hope people like it, but I just couldn’t stick with it. It’s wow classic and Penteon for me.

Wiped on the level 20 dungeon. Not knowing the mechanics. Then next few times were easier. Now I am wondering if there's battle rez. Would be great.

I’ve been saying on some of your live stream for months about this game and I think it’s going to be a hit here. They did a lot of things right And the PV is good and so is the RVR and PVP it just offers everything well done You know a lot of people try to give NCS a bad name, but they’ve made some great like city of heroes and behind a lot of guild wars too

Loving the Game have a Guild with my Family and just enjoying it, Guild is full with a wait list and I like that brings back Lineage 2 vibes grind it out talk crap and just chill with new people and friends. Also never been a big PVPer but the PVP is really fun and there is alot of it, but I like that you can just go OK no pvp for me just leave the area and go do something else for 30 minutes.

Gave it a go, Actually pretty enjoying it. THe story is fun so far and i hate ffxiv. At least this is voice acted. The world feels fun to explore and i can kick back and play it on my tv without worrying about binding a billion abilities to my controller. Looking forward to playing some pvp. It also runs pretty well on my ageing pc and looks pretty nice. Started as a sword and wand templar!

We just fired it up too and have been trying it on the tv in the living room. Runs out of the box on our Linux PC console hybrid machine in the living room at 60fps despite the old low-end hardware (i7 6700, 16 Gigs, Nvidia T600). The music is really, really well done and goes so well with the ambience sounds. We just spent 20 minutes listening to an npc sing us a song and play guitar in the city. NCSoft knows how to play a nice tune too because I still remember the wonderful Lineage 2 ost like it was yesterday when I first heard it. Visually it's good and gameplay with a controller feels good too. So far we can't complain that much especially since it's free to play and we haven't had to spend a single dime so far. When I say we = my wife is trying it and I'm in the background with the kids.

The opening cutscene that shows the city played badly on Series X. Not sure if that was do to latency.

My thoughts is it is a mediocre MMO, graphic isn't even better than a 2013 Black desert, the combat is very clearly worse than BDO and Lost Ark. And it's Amazon and NCsoft, it will end up being heavy P2W. Stories don't matter. Nothing is surprisingly good at first glance. Just like the other Korean MMO, player base will fall off really fast when they hit that grindy aspect of the game. The only good thing worth to praise is the optimization make the game smooth enough when a lot of players showing on your screen. Final thought, free game, enjoy it. Don't invest in too much.

The graphics are a lot better than bdo imo. You can definitely see age on the game, with the amount of pop in the game has it’s what put me off from the game Combat I much prefer TaL mostly due to I prefer tab target over the fighter style combat bdo has. Will it last… idk, I hope but we all know how mmo players are, they always go back to there older mmo. Except maybe bdo players mostly due to there PvP changes.

I'm old school and can only handle 1 MMO at a time. Is this worth the switch from say EQ2 Origins or even New World Aeternum? What is the appeal with T&L? Just because its shiny new doesn't make it better....right? Keep up the great content Nathan!

Yeah it's going to be different for everybody, but I played Aeternum, thought it was cool, but T&L feels more MMO style : I mean public dungeons and all the events, I'm loving it so far

There are mechanic based bosses that are hard until you learn the mechanics and enemies will swarm you in the camp spots, and people will train you in dungeons, those are the dangers of PvE from my experience

i think this is one of the greatest free games ever made, up there with genshin and hearthstone... BUT i didnt like playing it, combat didnt speak to me, i was looking for public raiding, but i didnt evenn like the single player combat, not hard like new world or challenging in any way, felt like mowing down grass, bored me

Man using FFXIV as a metric for 'a great story' just tells me I shouldn't be playing MMOs. I don't know if it's that they're writing for the lowest common denominator, so all ages can engage, but the writing for FFXIV, and more so for this, is so childish. Super derivative, painfully basic dialogue, smashing all the tropes in everywhere they can. I seriously had a big monster yell, "Who's there?!" in an angry bass voice. "Who's there"?? Is the big monster knight a stay-at-home mum, holding a teatowel to her chest as she looks nervously towards a noise in the house?

Um I’m not sure how far into ffxiv story you got, but it’s praised across the world as some of the best storytelling, Heavensward and onward is phenomenal storytelling

This game is traaaaash... As a player of mmo's from RuneScape to ESO, this game is horrible. There is 0 open world PvP and the PvP events are scheduled once every 3 hours. There is no guild chat. You cannot trade items player to player. In the time I played it I did not have fun... It's a copy of black desert mechanics with a skin over of new world. It has confusing mechanics and a very high pay to win quality that frankly I think it's garbage. If this is the future of mmo's I'm very dissatisfied and would rather go back to ESO. A 10 yr old game. Where at least you have a chance in the open world PvP and don't get steam rolled by gankers camping event borders.... If I could.... 0 stars. Garbage game. Just a huuuuge cash grab....

Yeah besides the castle siege and events and dungeons turning PvP at night, I think that’s all there is for PvP, it’s adequate for me, there IS guild text chat and built in guild voice chat in the game though. Sorry you aren’t enjoying, the p2w aspect I still haven’t found to be paying to win, more like paying to be a moron from what I’ve seen as running public dungeons and using auction house is what 99.9% of the community is doing for the swipe-your-card currency. But no MMO is for everybody, I’m enjoying my time in T&L shockingly more than I thought I would, And so are 100s of thousands of others.
