I took a different approach to this game, as a wow player i found my self looking up the best builds before even launching the game. I had to stop myself, take a step back and just play the game. I chose the weapon types that i just liked based on nothing else but what i honestly enjoyed playing. (Staff/Greatsword) because a battlemage is such a cool fantasy to play. I have not looked up any guides or anything i'm just playing the game, learning, reading, screwing up and honestly i can't remember the last time i had this much fun in a game. And i'm only level 25

You can be deep healer spec if you spec into it, but most spells you get on level 50. You can aoe heal everyone from 20% to 100% hp if they stand in your spell circle, you can also boost healing and give protection resistances. Also you can give shields, aoe dmg boost, single target dmg boost for one player etc... Things change dramatically on level 50 when you can customize spells.

Fun fact, the game did not kick off as much in Korea because you could not whale in it like other games. It is not more p2w than retail wow and all other versions with wow token.

Yes... WoW is really p2w if you look at it. You can buy boosts for heroic raid for only 200k in like 1 month before season ends, thats 15euro for some loot thats probably bis. Among other stuff + consumables are also p2w and everything else that you can buy with gold. Basically in WoW you can buy everything and in TnL you can't buy bis gear, cuz they drop from world bosses and stuff, in TnL you can only progress faster, but again, not be the best.

Actually it is way more P2W than wow. In wow the BOE's I can buy from the AH are not as good as soulbound drops from actual dungeons and raids. Here I can buy my BIS weapons and armor from the auction house with real money and I can also buy the materials to upgrade them.

I’m not totally hooked yet but when the first quest was like “go get these items” and the mobs just drop them. I was shocked. Like holy shit all the animals have all their parts. So far, no “go do this quest for 10 of a thing that has a 10% drop chance. I haven’t felt like my time has been wasted.

yeah, progress seems quite fast in early game thankfully, i've took part on some random events in the world where all players had to cooperate to hunt wolves and another one to stop some goblin ritual that were a bit time consuming but it was quite cool to see several dozen players running around trying to achieve the same goal

I played WoW back in vanilla and BC, before wrath, before cata. It's practically the only MMO I've loved for the last 15 years, with the exception of some GW2. Throne and Liberty is shaping up to be the next big MMO for me. As long as they dont kill it with overpriced microtransactions and pay to win like they did Aion. (My wife loved that game)

Idk if i‘m the only one here but coming from 8 years of ESO i was absolutely blown away at first but the more i play the more i find things that just don‘t work for me personally. Starting from things such as a missing transmog system, only having a single playable race or actually somewhat having to have an idea of what build you‘re going to play because changing that later on is very difficult. Still i‘ll keep playing and give the game a chance since its been doing other things quite good aswell. We‘ll see

You don‘t want level 1s running around in transmogs that make them look like max level but on the other hand a transmog system is a nice way to make your character look unique. I‘m currently level 32 and my character looks almost exactly like he did with level 5.

It's definitely a beautiful game, has great performance, has a great feature set, but it lacks in one area and that is questing with other people. Sure, you can help kill mobs in the open world, but when it comes to the majority of quests, you can't group up with others, it goes into solo quest mode, which is similar to Final Fantasy 14. Wow on the other hand, you can group up with others to do most all quests. Wow goes very light on solo quests, which I appreciate, but it's nice be able to group up and help people. I got my friend to try Throne and Liberty and we've had a difficult time finding content we can do together as we both level up, we have yet to do any dungeons, but that's not our focus now. Overall, Throne and Liberty is a decent game and if you're bored and need something to do while you wait for a WoW killer, it gets the job done, however I don't see it having the same shelf life as WoW has had.

The biggest problem with the game is each server being controlled by the 70 players of the strongest guild. Whales vs plankton. They control the access to game activities content and end game items.

Changing weapons isn't difficult at all. If you have a weapon that is leveled up you can literally feed that into a new weapon that you want to learn and it will be the same level as the one that you just had. It's actually much easier than leveling a totally different class to play something different All you have to do is switch weapons and level those skills up. And no guilds control access to items. Want to participate and guild activities You can run solo and get drops yourself.

Big mistake liking the game in the open in the current climate where it's hip to be part of the crowd that absolutely hates it after finishing the tutorial. That being said, the game has its problems 100% but saying the game is dogshit is just delusion. NCSoft is renowned for slowly cranking up the P2W aspects in their games as time progresses. It might not be "that" P2W right now (any P2W is bad imo), but once the player base drops off you can expect for NA's game to convert over to Korea's version which is VERY P2W.

@MetaGoblin regarding your point at 7:00 , for the record, your group did have a dedicated healer ( the Mushin guy ) witch was rolling the 2nd best healing spec. And the matchmaking system does not "detect/track" if you`re a healer, you straight up need to select you`re queing as healer when matchmaking. Judging by your statements about classes / specs / roles , seems like you don`t quite have a grasp about how these work in T&L. They are pretty much rigid / dedicated unlike how you`ve described. Even though if might not seem so at lower levels, depending on your weapon choices, your`e either a tank, healer or dps.

I play the game on PS5 and it's awesome. Definitely the game has something special that keeps me engaged even if the combat is so simple. The only disconfort it gaves me is the controls but is something that can be learned through time and to be honest I am frightened to even go into pvp. I never was a pvp type of player and I get kinda scared of pvp encounters😅 But nonetheless, I love the game and I hope it will be or it is pve friendly. I just start playing it so I don't really know what pve players can do in it.

Very minimal you should not be able to select the healer unless you have a wind in one of your hands and you should not be able to select a tank unless you have sword shield in one hand. Because those are the only two characters tank and healer so far the two our ties from weapons back and play those rolls I mean bowl can heal a little bit as a utility healer kind of subsidizing the person with the wand but cannot keep the team healed up through those twice. You need a wand and someone actually concentrating on killing and cursing and binging and not on damage likewise, the tank mostly needs and I saw one I seen one match for the tank was actually doing his job like you come into one of those roads with all the soldiers and the tank with literally all of them get them on him and then we wipe them out not home and be attacking the DPS. He was doing exactly the job he was supposed to dofor a point where the healers only function was to help him sank alive. Rest of us were taken damage. It was refreshing, but usually the person playing the healer is more interested in DPS and not paying attention to peoples health.

As a WoW player myself I've been playing this as my side MMO and so far I've enjoyed it and I think a large part of it is the heavy focus on guilds. This game has some cracks in walls but I do think it deserves some credit and if the developers continue to improve it I don't see why it wont hold it's own in the long-term. I am a new player in world of warcraft. I play 2 weeks and I don't chceck anything online like rest of people. Everybody follow guides, builds, grind etc. I just enjoy the game and I have different experience from what I heard of wow players. I really enjoy it.. I don't understand camping and being afk in town etc. I juat go out there and explore and while it is slow compering to others and my weapons kinda sux as I heard.. I don't care as I enjoy the game ao much. I understand tho wow players who have like 6 60lvl charakters and know the game so much that they follow or meta etc. They say they wish they just started the game like I just did and I understand where ita coming from.. I don't like the character movement, combat and animations, there's a disconnect between characters and the environment design for me. It seems a little weird to me that the camera and feel kind of seems like a top down game. I've never liked a Diablo like game, so this is a negative for me. PORTION for the mats.. The rest you have to grind yourself like everyone else. The only thing that is fully P2W is traits. Buy extracts and max trait lines on your gear as soon as you get the gear for your build.

If you're right about the p2w aspect of how little it can affect, this is nice. Think about the dad with 3 jobs and 36 kids, he can just pay to catch up to those playing 4 hours/day

only thing i disagree with is the graphics making other mmos look bad, realism =/= good and i think there's alot of charm in having defined art styles that dont just look like every other new mmorpg

Who is to say the whale doesn't spend countless hours in the game vs the free to play. It's pay to win. The game will be fun like lost ark for a time and then die.

the whale has to farm too you cant just buy everything, on top of that the whale is overpaying for an advantage of 2 weeks and 10% power creep 😂

@@kyoden1928 you need to realize whales live to literally feel better than others because they have money and you don't. They would overpay for 1% of power and feel good while crushing you eventually with enough upgrades. Every patch that comes out will bring new side-upgrades convoluted systems to power up and new content, setting more and more the players that were behind on their backfoot. You NEED to feed the whales, what most players don't realize is that these games and design models don't exist because there is dumb people willing to spend money on lesser entertainment, they exist because there are dumbasses who are willing to let themselves be farmed over and over by the whales allowing for such ecosystem. The more educated and smart the normal population grows the sooner this model will die out, if ever. If they can't feel better than others they will not spend money, just like irl. Don't play p2w games if you want to make a difference

My issue with it coming from retail WoW is that although the visuals and animations are better than WoW, the impacts are definetely not. There is something satisfying putting on a bleed in WoW with any class, the sounds, the visual effect, the damage numbers ticking down. Or hitting a huge crit it has a unique sound as well and effect. Here its just too many colorful particle effects. Its not exciting. Charging down or leaping into a crowd of mobs in WoW you knock NPC's down, here it almost has no effect. I cannot get excited about this combat. Then you have zero classes, but you can choose two weapons which makes it very weird. You can do both greatsword and daggers which means youre both a warrior and a rogue at the same time. This takes away the uniqueness of your class like you have in WoW. A class in WoW brings something specific to a dungeon, here? I am a tank! and DPS at the same time.

There are classes press p and look top left... staff and dagger is called spellblade. People just call the weps you wear instead of the class.

The game has a nice design and some depth, but ive heard the combat needs work. Korean mmo's always got that p2w problem which hopefully they take out of the american version. IT would be cool to have a good alternative mmo to play. This being free sounds cool, tho im sure there is like a 10$ sub that unlocks bag sllots and free reroll talents, but that would be fair. Buying gear not so much but you said its just levels which i guess isn't as bad. Lets hope they turn the game into somethign fun and challenging and new.

Up to a week, the cumulative count for being lazy is calculated. I think it's great. And I think it's great that they limit how much you can do in a day. It shouldn't be the case that only people who play games all day benefit.

You are playing a paldin class, the most boring combination of weapons in the game by far. Your dps is so low I had to make a comment. Try Crossbow/Dagger with a proper build and then tell me about how gameplay feels. Without DPS meter, you simply have not clue how badly you play, so pick up some other DPS class for comparision.

Honestly at this point its as P2W as WoW is, in the sense that you can get a token in wow and similarly you can do in this one. Even in BDO there is no real p2w aside from paying for convinience which can be disturbing with so many buffs to account for.

Game doesn't show DPS so you have no idea how much you are contributing. It just feels like another BDO Korean cookie cutter MMO IMO. Also guilds control everything so if you arent in the best guild you are irrelevant on the server.
