The cylinder 4 cooling mod, I don’t know what exactly it does but boxers are very notorious for overheating in cyl 4 specifically because it’s the farthest point from the coolant intake neck. Similar to how 3 rotors have a problem cooling the farthest back rotor. So I think the mod just adds another coolant intake by cyl 4

Great job guys! Just needs a AOS to keep the engine clean. High HP or not, a FMIC is going to keep IAT's down. You don't need a bunch of HP to reap the benefits of a FMIC.

You only need the cyl4 cooling mod if you're making appreciable power over stock specification.

Yeah the thought is that the un equal length stock header creates more heat on the longer runner side, making it a great safety mod for all subies not just higher hp ones

@@jakeheavlow for the EJ engine cyl4 is the last stop in the cooling system flow so all the heat absorbed by the coolant is present by the time it reaches cyl4. Also saw some flow simulations showing stagnation around cyl4 so thats why it often runs hotter than the others. I agree its a good mod, but the factory power output shouldn't produce heat levels exceeding what the OE designed cooling system can handle...unless pushing hard for extended durations, like track hot laps. Also the knock sensor location was intended to help detect cyl 4 noise which is where its most likely to occur. Mike McGinnis at Cobb did not recommended cyl 4 cooling mod for stock power EJ, but that may have been for a customers cost consideration.

The previous owner of mine clio 2 rs did a bad job of adding a oil cooler it keeps on leaking from the sandwich plate and is giving me a pain in de butt because of the location its in. And seeing you guys using a sandwich plate in de first few minutes really gave me ptsd chillings on my spine😂😂

The turbo inlet hose was a pain in the butt to reinstall aye Ricky? Trick is to use a bit of engine oil to lube the hose.
