This video saved me so much money, the dealer wanted $150 per sensor plus $800 labor. I bought sensors for $50 each and a gasket, all for under $200. Thank you for making this video, it is the best video I've found on KZbin for replacing a knock sensor, so we'll done. I can't thank you enough. A few snags when I did the job. My rear sensor was stuck, just spinning when trying to remove, found a video that you just reinforce the crimp with a screwdriver and hammer, saved me from drilling. Also my injector connectors were different but I found a video for that too. KZbin is the best instructor!

Been watching a lot of videos upon replacing these throttle bodies on my vehicle and you guys show the easiest way to disconnect the electric housing face to face most people cover it up then come back and tell you how to do it like it's really easy. On engines that haven't had a throttle body change in certain period of time those things really get stuck it gets aggravating but you do not want to yank any wires out. Useful video

Thanks for starting with the battery. Clean tight connections are important, but checking ground from the back of the alternator is important, install one if none, voltage drop ground and B+ while running with headlights, blower fan on high and switch DMM to A/C at alternator as it should be less than 0.60 volts A/C at 2K RPM and 1/3rd of that reading at the battery. A bad diode plays hell with serial data signals, even without a “ U” code. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado the RPMs goes up and down it looks like I’m losing power the one and a third gear the idle the RPMs raises up and down up and down before all this happened it’s just that there’s RPMs We’re just traveled up up and down not all the time to certain time so clean sprayed the throttle Body it seems like it helps him then it’s idols really high

Bought a throttle body sensor for a 2003 1500 5.3 liter engine from Oreilly. auto parts. Sensor connectors that plug into the throttle body were to deep into the sensor. Replacement was the same way. Was forced to buy the complete throttle body with the sensor. Mechanic is putting it on now. I hope the sensor is not the same as the other two!

Got sluggish acceleration and at idle it dips down randomly in rpm. Could the throttle body be an issue?

This was a very nice video this pretty much helped me out figure out where and how this can be replaced on my father's 02 Silverado 4.3 it looked something similar to this style it has a bad throttle position sensor I just needed to know where it was located and getting it removed

You should have just replaced the sensor assembly ok y instead of the entire throttle body and just cleaned it.

The one in their video is the updated/refreshed Silverado from that generation. 2003-2006 which did away with throttle cables.

2003 gmc yukon 5.3 v8. I replaced the throttle body. The water pump nozzle that connects to the upper radiator hose got in the way preventing the throttle to come off easily. It came off with some force. Although slightly bent the bolt.

My tahoe 2003 5.3l is not relearning.. replaced the TB and have done the whole 3min run 1 min off about 6x now. I tried doing the 44mph trick, but my car will not go over 10mph... I also tried taking the battery off for 10mins and no luck. It says reduced engine power and the light is on. Unfortunately I can't drive it to go get tested.. would anyone be kind enough to help?

Try cleaning your throttle body and IAC valve but also kinda sounds like your transmission might be slipping. I would check your u joints and your differential too

Had a question guys I have a 2001 chevy tahoe, when driving the engine sounds like it revs when getting to the 30 mile mark on speedometer it had the engine light so I put the code reader and p0332 comes back so I change the knock sensor and it still does it can you guys give me some po in nters of where to start from please. @Enrique Torres >The code P0332 is the knock sensor. I highly suggest dielectric grease where is screws in and inside the connector. A high temp RTV should be applied completely around the valley grommet to keep water out. Any pressure or vacuum from temperature changes will pass around the wire in the grommet. Throw away the foam gap fillers on both ends of the intake. After this repair and you have no codes and the same problem, it auto, it can be a sticking shift solenoid. It can be serviced in the vehicle with the pan off. I highly recommend changing the servo assembly complete with a new one from “Superior”. It takes an hour and cost parts about $100. This effects 2nd, 3rd and 4th with higher holding pressures if what you is hearing is a “Shift-Flare”. The two maybe completely un-related. However, the signals from the “MAP”, “MAF” and throttle position tell the PCM if you are up shifting, down shifting, holding still on cruise or pedal. But all of these signals are inputs to shift and change ignition timing for proper feel, shifts and normal operation while it calculates load. This effects the line pressure in the tranny. Cleaning the MAF sensor is normal for higher milage vehicles. Do NOT touch the sensors wire with anything other than MAF sensor cleaner from a quality company like CRC or Berrymans. Others may work, but a check of pending or current codes is a good place to start. Hope this helps since they didn’t answer you. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

Most likely the PCM just needs to relearn the new throttle position at idle - if you let it idle for a while it should become more normal

Start off with amazing video. Easy instructions and tool list. But... You need to hold the torque wrench at a specific point to get accurate torque. I fear those bolts are undertorqued due to hand placement. Loved the video. Had to say that again!

@@LemurMonitors I saw two P0171 and P0174 but that was days ago and another mechanic put another computer on it since then. He saw codes- I did not see them that indicated either a knock sensor or fuel pump problem. He is supposed to be coming by today to check the fuel pressure to eliminate the pump as the issue.
