I know everyone's laughing about the silly dancing during the lai lai's, but I think it adds so much?? The lai lai's are so joyful and uninhibited, their dance moves just add to that!! They're having fun and celebrating, which is just what that part is meant to convey.

Honestly i prefer those kinds of christian songs. Sounds more joyfull and welcoming than most prayer songs i heard. Sounds more like "If you accept God in your heart, is love will flow on you no matter your backstory or what brought you to him" than "Jesus is our lord that must be prayed. Worship him then your salvation will finally come" to me. Sounds more like God is teaching you rather than giving you orders wich i think is how he would sound. So completely of context : At 2:13 it looks like someone is praying while is guardian angel is goofing around.

This is the last song you would expect to be covered into a metal song in The Prince of Egypt. And it's the most awesome thing I've heard so far in 2023! 😀

8 seconds in and already I love it. Through Heaven's Eyes is my second favourite song from the movie (after Deliver Us) and I can already tell this is going in my favourite covers playlist. Edit: Why was I expecting Jonathan to say "Dance with me?" in place of Zipporah? xD

Herecy! There was a small feud between Disney and Dreamworks at this time. Dreamworks announces Prince of Egypt's release date. Disney announced they would release a film to compete with Prince of Egypt in the box office. Dreamworks tried to negotiate, Disney wouldn't budge. Prince of Egypt is Delayed to just before Christmas 1998. Disney announces a movie release on Christmas 1998. Prince of Egypt finally comes out, becomes the highest grossing non-Disney animated film ever released. It has since lost that crown, but what an achievement.

The dancing during the lai lai parts got me dying 😂 Also fun fact, those parts sound very similar to a few traditional Romanian songs and their dancing during the first part kinda looks like how people dance to them at weddings and stuff and it makes the video even funnier to me.

Through Heaven's Eyes K-Ci & JoJo A single thread in a tapestry And though its color brightly shines Can never see its purpose In the pattern of the grand design And the stone that sits up on the very top Of the mountain's mighty face Does it think that it's more important Than the stones that forms the base So how can you see what your life is worth Or where your value lies? Oh, you can never see through the eyes of man You must look at your life Look at your life through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes A lake of gold in the desert sand Is less than a cool fresh spring And to one lost sheep, a shepherd boy Is greater than the richest king Should a man lose everything he owns Has he truly lost his worth Or is it the beginning Of a new and brighter birth? So how do you measure the worth of a man In wealth or strength or size, oh? In how much he gained or how much he gave The answer will come to ya To look at his life through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes That's why we share all we have with you Though there's little to be found When all you've got is nothing There's a lot to go around No life can escape being blown about By the winds of change and chance And though you never know all the steps You must learn to join the dance Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Lai lai lai lee lai lai Through heaven's eyes Lai lai lai lee lai lai Lai lai lai lee Songwriters: Stephen Lawrence Schwartz

Man, this song is great for putting things in perspective. Feeling like crap? Just think of the tapestry of life. We're one small thread. Maybe we're glittering and bright, or we're plain. But without each of those threads, the tapestry wouldn't be as wonderful. Without your thread or mine, it would have holes.

The really nice thing about this song, and the movie in general, is while there is religious interpretation to it it's more about seeing yourself in the grander picture. It's value-affirming regardless of which specific religion you are or aren't apart of. It's about the power of community and caring for others.

I feel like they maybe tried to think of some choreographed dance to do with the chorus, but then they decided "yeah, no, let's just go with randomly dancing whatever moves pop in our heads and see what happens" instead.
