"Győző Somogyi, the human, was the essentials of this film. The human, whose genuineness proves the truth of his arts. In an era of disintergation, where our world is falling apart."
Zoltán Bicskei
"His tempera paintings have graphic effects due to determined outlines as if the artist painted the previously drawn lines and contours. Somogyi cannot be categorized to any of the art tendencies or artistic communities. The interpretation of the content is only one component of his works, the expressiveness of his works lies behind their unusual formulation."

"Modernism -- as I see it -- started as an atheist movement in the early Enlightment, and its roots had already existed in the Middle Ages. So, Modernism was a secular, anti-sacral movement. Humans wanted to free themselves from God, from religion and its rules, as well as from traditions. They thought those things made them tied, restricted. They have rendered themselves independent by today and now they have to pay the price. People are left alone in empty sky and universe, and they do not really know what to do with it. Struggling has turned into self-destruction and world-devastation. Humanity started realizing the mistakes, but still cannot find the way backwards, the way of conversion. We want to keep our faces and the pride for our technological achievements, but we cannot have them both. We have to give up one of them to make us able to return to God and life."
