I had a kind of passing interest in Bad Religion from when I first saw them on Rage TV and bought the New Maps album. Just recently I watched the 4 Decades shows and had a sudden realisation.... How did I not get into these guys earlier?! Not only is the music awesome, but thanks to the interviews I discovered these guys are just great people. And now the expensive part: I have started buying their CD back catalogue 😜

When I first checked this out I started near the end with the Gray Race/Ric Ocasek discussion into the Folk discussion (I have also observed that punk and folk share so much). Great show--longtime BR fan here, but also someone who absolutely disagrees with the assessment you guys both have about the current political situation. The other side is not solely comprised of brainwashed rubes who are convinced of fantastic conspiratorial fairy tales. There are very, very good arguments against what Brian is calling the "sanity" of the new administration, and many reasons why rational, educated adults could and did choose the other alternative in the election. You guys are both very smart intellectuals--I'd recommend checking out some of the following books to gain greater insight into the perfectly valid reasoning behind opposition to the current administration: Discrimination and Disparities - Thomas Sowell The Parasitic Mind - Gad Saad The Madness of Crowds - Douglas Murray The Road to Serfdom - F.A. Hayek The Gulag Archipelago - Alexander Solzhenitsyn

@@k.q.594 Yeah I mean he really does seem a completely unhinged TDS sufferer on Twitter, so I agree with you 100% in that context. Trying to give him a fair shake as he does come off as charming, articulate, and well-read in interviews like this one. And Bad Religion is no doubt a prolific punk stalwart, and his contribution to that is undeniable. Amazing, talented, creative human. But one who has unfortunately guzzled the destructive and hate-filled koolaid of toxic leftist idealogy. And for the record, "Intellectual" doesn't necessarily mean right about anything ;)--a whole book about that here: www.amazon.com/Intellectuals-Society-Thomas-Sowell/dp/0465025226
