Seen other lure builders with fancy drying racks but l love the simplicity of your drill idea. I was thinking the same thanks.

grant prochaska thanks! Caught a 40" musky first time having it out. It's a great feeling landing any fishing on something homemade.

Looks great! Im just getting in to lure making too. One tip I have is to make sure you add small weights in the bottom to keep it upright.

Maineac Hunting , fishing, And sled Edits Thank you! I was adding weight when I was using Basswood. I switched to red oak and it's buoyancy was perfect so that just the weights from two oversized hooks and 4 split rings kept it upright perfectly. I was told that oak grain is a little looser than lure makers like. They've all recommended western red cedar.

No weight (lead)

William Albuquerque correct. It sort of worked but yeah I should have weighted it. This was my very first attempt at through-wire. I've completely changed my build after years of trial and error. I have another video on my channel of my updated methods if you care to check it out

I did catch one 40" musky my first time out with it before I retired it for a design that actually works

William Albuquerque I think the only reason it sort if worked is because I used red oak instead of a soft cedar.
