I am the same age as you. On Sep. 11th i woke up to my older sister saying "Katey get up, something happened in New York" so i got up and got dressed and watched the news ALL morning. I thought we couldnt go outside so i cried until i got to school. when i went to class my teacher Ms. Frances turned on the news and we watched it all day. The one thing i will never forget is when i looked at my teacher and her and was over her mouth and tears were rolling down her face. I understood everything.

I was in 4th grade. But since I'm in California, the times zones are different so I was going to school when it happened. When I got to school, I didn't see anyone on the play structure and a teacher ran out and brought me to the office. There were like 5 other kids there and the principal called our parents telling them to pick us up. I didn't quite comprehend what was happening either and why it was such a big deal at that time.

I was in 3rd grade when 9/11 happened, too. I live in New York City, and we could see the smoke from the buildings in the borough of NYC we live in (Brooklyn) all the way from Manhattan. My mom came to pick me up from school during my lunch time, and told the staff that was in the lunchroom with us what happened. Seeing the live coverage from that day was like... wow... My dad is a yellow cab driver so we immediately called him to see if he was okay, and thank God he was.

i just entered middle school when 9/11 happened (i lived in brooklyn, which is in nyc). it was the first week of school, and when they let us out for recess, ashes were coming down from the sky. i thought it was snowing in september. but then the teachers made us go back inside. and for the rest of the day, all of my teachers talked about what was happening. also, i'm so glad that you guys encountered such a nice man!! and the indian food story was cute :)

and another reason why kids left school early was because if they lived on a military base, some thought that it was going to close so everyone, including my family, rushed on base and i remember having to wait in this really long line and it was crazy and a bit over whelming especially for me being so young, i think i was in second grade, and clueless. :)

That trick is TOTALLY possible! My friend's dog used to be able to do that! It took them a long time to get her to sit still with the treat on her nose, but she eventually got to the point where she would sit with it there until somebody snapped their fingers, and then she would flick it and eat it. It was SO cute. She was bigger than a yorkie though, and it might be difficult for a dog with such a small nose to balance a treat. Good luck though!

When my mom came to pick me up at the end of the day She looked very upset and told us (me and my younger sister) that there were people who had very horrible ideas and then she told me what happened. It was a week after my birthday and I was still super happy but it totally bursted my bubble. i'll always remember that day.

To train Teddy to do that trick is easy! You take a SMALL peice of treat. Hold his nose and mouth in one hand and put the treat on his nose with the other. Say stay. Then when you want him to flick it up and eat it just say ok or go. It takes a lot of practice and if you have other dogs who can do it I think he should see them doiing it too! Hope I helped you Blair

For what it's worth, I taught my puppy how to do it. She has a big nose though. First you MUST teach impulse control. Teach him to not try to grab the treat right away. I did this by putting a treat on the floor and used the "leave it" comand. When she ignored it, she got it. After she had that down, I would hold her nose, tell her to leave it, and make her sit like that for a minute so she'd learn how to balance it and wait. Now she's a pro. Your dog has a little nose though.
