AMD issued a correction for one of their slides. Specifically, at 11:38 it says that the 5500GT is a 4 core, 8 thread CPU. It's actually 6 cores and 12 threads. But in the slide where I go over them, the core count is correct.

Doubt. It would be powerful enough that some GPU will be redundant but it wont be able to compete with a big component only dedicated to graphic processing. Not to mention they have to balance it without harming the cpu side too much and not get everything melt through the motherboard.

The difference between the 7000 series vs the 8000 series isn't the NPU it is the release year. 2023= 7000 2024= 8000 2025= 9000 AMD mentioned this when they change the naming scheme last year. e.g. 7735 is really a 6700(Zen 3) but released in 2023

And now I'm wondering if it would be possible to add extra cache to those CPUs to make them even better for the market they're aimed at : entry-level gaming. X3D covers high-end gaming but falls short w.r.t. productivity workloads because of the added latency and lower clock speed (at least the 7950X3D falls short for compiling code vs the 7950X).

This was the release I was waiting for to build my son a long term rig without a GPU in it's initial form. A solid all around performer that doesn't need* a discreet card right away to anything an entry level hobbyist would want to do. The power effeciency is incredible. Micro form factor PCs are about to have a major leap forward available to them.

yeah the actual budget apu has 740m which has a 1/3rd of CUs, and the performance would be only slightly higher than vega graphics, look at the laptop apus with 740m vs 780m, or 640m vs 680m(for more benchmarks)

At $329.00 for the highest end 8700G with approximately GTX 1650 performance, if the goal is strictly gaming, there are seemingly better options, like the RTX 3050 or RX 6600 which are still available for under $200, matched with a 5600X + AM4 cheaper mobo + DDR4 also really cheap right now. Both of these would offer nearly 2X the gaming performance. If your goal is to have the absolute best performance without dedicated GPU, then I guess the 8700G is the way to go.

I may wait until the Desktop Strix APUs come out in 2025. Don't get me wrong what they're bringing out is good for most I just want to see if AMD really will put in the larger GPUs like the leaks suggest before investing in AM5. With that said a lot of people that comment on YT & other Social Media groups still will not be happy with the prices especially with the motherboard prices still being a tad too high for a decent B650, or A620. I kinda figured though that this would be the MSRP at least for the 8700G though many said they should price the 8700G at $300 or less.

AMD's Radeon 780M integrated graphics get close to GTX 1650 in Geekbench 6 so they are very close to 1060. Really what's holding them back is power/watts which is limited in an cpu interface. I would guess if one is even considering integrated graphics that 780m be fine & the power consumption differences are great if you pay a power bill.

Starwars Jedi Survivor only getting 23FPS on the 8700G at 1080p? That doesnt bode well, i have a 7840HS which is basically a 35w version using crappy laptop RAM and i'm getting ~25FPS without FSR BG3 also seems low on the without FMF section, as i think my Z1X is seeing around 60FFPS at 1600p

Sorry i misspoke All below testing is at minimum settings with all upscaling disabled, i have no easy way of telling if the game fails to turn it off because this LCD is trash, the Z1eXtreme will be at 1200p, and the 7940HS will be at 1080p In Baldurs Gate the Z1eXtreme(30w max 4 cores disabled to free up a small ammount of power and RAM) is seeing 50-65FPS at 1200p, but i'm running out of all RAM (16GB total, 3GB on the GPU at 98% usage and 13GB on CPU at 95% usage) I get slightly faster on my 7840HS(30w but says 45w from the wall) with 32GB of 5600 RAM in gear 2(with UCLK half of MCLK) and 8GB dedicated to the GPU it is hitting 60-80FPS In Jedi Survivor the Z1X is running out of RAM and crashing but when it does run it is clearly less affected by lower MCLK/FCLK than the 7840HS, but and gets a huge boost from having 7500MT/s RAM as it is getting between 10 and 60FPS(all over the place because of running out of VRAM and system RAM), but the 7840HS is using a total of 28GB of RAM(8GB GPU and 21GB CPU) and averaging around 25FPS... with RT enabled, and around 35-40FPS with RT off(oddly the same ammount of RAM either way) The Z1X is pegged at the maximum 16GB and will insta-crash if you enable RT But i may be in a different location that is less graphically demanding in both games. I am excited for the 8700G. from my own testing getting 4600 RAM on the 5700G in gear 1 was a huge boost to the GPU over the normal 32-3800MT/s, and while the 5700G's iGPU did not want to play nicely at higher speeds, if i turned off the iGPU i could get 4933CL17-17-17-28 in gear1 and even 5000 with looser timigs (yes the MCLK/FCLK/UCLK were all at 2500 gear1). Imagine if the 8700G had an equally good memory controller to the 5700G, and was able to hit 9866 in gear2 with very tight 30 ish timings or DDR5 10,000 with a bit looser timings (~CL40), and thats assuming the IMC is the same relative quality as the 5700G. Being a 2nd gen DDR5 controller i wouldnt be surprized if it had some disadvantages, though being on 4nm instead of 7nm might mean it can just pump up the raw clocks, at the sacrifice of timings. Also of note, the FCLK/MCLK/UCLK are at a horribly slow on the Z1 Extreme 935Mhz(ram at 7500 for a 4:1 ratio) where as the 5700G can hit 2500 and my own 7840HS is hitting 1400 with FCLK at 700(sometimes MCLK showing 2800 but i thought it needed to reboot to switch from gear2 to gear1). Even if the 8700G could only hit 2000Mhz as long as that is all 3 MCLK/FCLK/UCLK it should be much faster assuming you can get a kit of 8000 RAM to run with it for a great 2:1 ratio, but i really wouldnt be surprised if an enterprising overclocker could hit 3000 MCLK with RAM at 6000 for 1:1 (gear1) or 12000 gear2

I like the Ryzen 8700g. I’m actually really impressed with the Ryzen 5700; That would make a good base for one heck of a little budget friendly & power efficient rig with lots of bang paired with that new Radeon 7600 XT 16GB?! DDR4 is cheap, so you throw in 32GB. 2TB M.2 SSD. That would be well under $1000, making it accessible for the masses. I already have a case. I could even use my old 2TB Samsung SSD over SATA. 6GB read/4-5GB write isn’t the fastest, but it would get me back in the game after 19 months w/o a PC. My old pc still works, but it’s got an Intel I7 3770K, 16GB DDR3, and an AMD Radeon R9 Fury X 4GB(4096-Bit Bus from the HBM)

As someone who´s gonna keep gaming at 1080p (1440p simply isn´t affordable to me) I currently only really care about Battlemage. Got a 5600X just last year hoping to get a good deal on a 5800X3d in 2 years since it sold like hot cakes (warme Semmeln) in Germany and a 250-300€ Battlemage GPU with 16GB and 256-Bit bus is all Intel needs to offer on Battlemage to me buying one due to the latest ARC driver updates. Still gonna keep my RX 480 8GB just in case Battlemage doesn´t some old game I really wanna play again. Think that´s the smartest way to go for me, I´m not spending almost or plus 300€ on a 128-Bit GPU, I´m not stupid nor letting myself being brainwashed that crap is okay; 128-Bit? 189€ tops and I´m not budging on my opinion no matter what someone else is thinking. 128-Bit GPUs usually only hold up 2-3 years and in the current situation the current 300€ GPUs won´t make it 2 years, they already can´t run some games at native 1080p and have to render the game at ancient, 20years old 720p fry crying out loud, 300€ for that is a complete ripp, no more than that it´s an elephan dick up the arse balls deep!

@@Mr.D.K. I got a 5600X, I´m talking about 600-800€ GPUs you now need for 1440p, even if I had the money I wouldn´t spent that much on a midrange GPU out of princip. I also not gaming that much anymore and have other interst which require money and I know how to prioretize the impartants of things.

@@gedeuchnixan3830 Естественно зачем брать карту топ уровня. Когда через несколько лет 1080ti уже проигрывает 4060. Вопрос в другом а что после? Ведь с таким темпом к примеру таже rtx 7060 будет на уровне 4090. А тот-же Процессор с встроенным ядром в 2027 будет на уровне 2к максимальные настройки.

Well the 108oTi doesn´t loose to the 4060 299$ version in many games, it looses only in those which use mesh shading, otherwise the 4060 is the clear looser due to just 8GB on a puniy 128-Bit bus, no competition for the 1080Ti in many games. I only care about 1080p and know what a good 1080p GPU needs in 2024 which is 16GB on 256-Bit and support for modern technologies, even I don´t give a soft crap about that ugly, unrealisticly looking raytracing. In many cases RT just looks completly unrealistic, Cyperpunk and Control is prime examples for the worst offenders, nGreedias biggest promoters for that crap.

Great chips but the motherboards are expensive, also all these features (AI, IGPU, etc) are all bottlenecked by RAM bandwidth anyway, and even the 780m is old news. Not really adding anything to the table.
