Hi Sara love this video! Tip to resize a feather pillow insert… Measure and mark on the insert the size insert you need. Run a stitch across sewing it together at that mark by hand or machine. Then just cut the extra fabric off. Smart idea taking the feathers out side. I tried this in my garage awhile back and I’m still finding feathers out there. 😂 Which is how the idea of sewing it together was born.

Smart idea, Kathy! Thank you for sharing! I hope you find the last of the feathers soon! :)

I recently learned how to make a pillow cover using a you tube tutorial. You are so right! I have so many thrifted fabrics and some fabric I purchased and made so many beautiful covers! I am planning to sew covers for every season for change outs. It's such a fraction of the cost of purchased covers. I am talking like making them for 3-10 dollars each. Of course it depends on the fabric you choose but it's so affordable and high quality!

Everything is so pretty!! You are very good at breaking down all the steps and making it look do(able). I especially like the miniature lamp shades.. I saw some miniature ones exactly like that at Goodwill for .99 cents each.. I didn't purchase them.. major regret.. however.. just a few weeks ago I was at a different goodwill and I saw four pleated ones.. same size in a deep forrest pine green. I did purchase these .. I don't have a chandelier to use them yet but I'm keep them for when I do. Still regretting the ivory ones I left behind but lesson learned. I'm sure I will find some again.

Such gorgeous fabric selections. I really like to get my decor fabrics from fabric guru, older prints but heavily discounted. I recently made a box pleat slip cover for my table lamp. I saw them for sale from a place that Liz Marie Galvon shared but for the heavy price tag I just knew I could figure them out on my own for a fraction of the price

I’ve taught sewing and my suggestion if you are nervous is to practice sewing straight seams . Use the little guide to the right of the foot ( the part that holds your fabric is place. Practice until you can get it straight. Also learn to monitor the speed with your foot pedal so you do not go too fast - which causes mistakes. Thirdly - the iron is a seamstresses best friend for professional looking projects. Spray starch is another great tool. Good luck,

I too love changing out pillows using pillow covers. Yours looks so pretty! I was wondering how you were going to handle the feathers. I have an old down quilt I have been afraid to take out of the duvet because it has shed so many feathers. An outside project for sure. I have old linens to wash and dry outside. I need to look up a recipe for vintage linens, as I lost the one I had before.

I am inspired to make a lumbar pillow after watching your tutorial especially since I have been unable to find one that I like that goes with my new duvet cover. I am wondering where you got the blanket you have on the bed. I have been looking for one like it and can’t seem to find one with green in it.

I notice your Edwardian tea gown on the mannequin needs a petticoat. I have the Edwardian gown my husband’s grandmother got married in...in 1904. I put it on a mannequin and found the undergarments at an antique store. I attached a large cameo brooch of the Three Graces at the neck. It’s lovely and people comment on it’s beauty.
