I have learned that this is not something that you learn in one practice session. I had to practice for weekends on end to learn how to keep my wrists loose enough to let the club swing through the strike zone with no tension. Although I'm not 100% perfect in keeping my wrists loose every time, when I do get it right, it literally feels like I'm swinging at 50 mph yet the ball goes miles on end. It really is a weird and unusual feeling when you finally let it all go with no tension. Great video, Steve, as always.

I bought one of these things years ago and it’s been sitting on a shelf. Just learned how to use it. Thanx Steve.

I've taken two lessons with Steve. Latest today... This man is legendary. So thankful. What he explained in this video I did live with him today. Game changer.

You can make this training aid. Buy a cheap senior flex shaft, put a grip on it, buy a toy foam ball to put on it, add a giant washer to the end of the shaft.

@@TimSuttonGolf sorry - what is the 7
@TimSuttonGolf2 ай бұрын
@kevinmurphy8644 It is the shape your lead arm has in relation to your shoulders. Pinned across your chest it forms a seven, which you try and retain as you first unload/fire your lower body whilst retaining the seven (and keeping your head still :)

How do you keep the tension in your left arm? When you retain the arm, I think it s like a sling shot loaded but i dont know how to keep it loaded during the rotation. Sorry for my english. I am french. Good job for your videos!

Steve, watching your swing it seems that to make this move you have to give the hips a bit of a head start on the downswing. That's the only way I can see to keep the lead arm pressed against the chest. That would seem to set up the slingshot effect where then you can use your wrists to throw the clubhead out there. Does that sound right to you?

Yes.

Steve it looks like you start throwing the head out with your trail arm parallel to your chest. Is that where you start the throw and then pivot

Quick question- would you advocate this swing method for irons as well please

it looks like forearm rotation is involved. what about slapping the hands theory?

There are no good golf swings without forearm supination. Watch Korean Pro Golfer Heo here on KZbin to get a more detailed explanation of how it is done.

I just practice 1/4 length shots for proper release... work on good contact.... do that for 30 minutes with a PW and 6 iron. Then 1/2 swi g for 30 minutes, same clubs. If i am not consistent, I have no business practicing full swings
