McGrady was the only player I ever saw play live against Kobe that seemed to be on his level physically. The true separation between these two was in the subtle aspects of the game. This video does a fantastic job of showing the complexity of Kobe's game, and his arsenal of techniques. The shoulder fakes, footwork, ball fakes and all the other little cloak and dagger tricks he used on opponents are what allowed him to stay at such a high level even when his athleticism began to fade. McGrady, as freaky as he was, never had the "little things" as squared away as Kobe. Still loved watching him play though as he was a top-10 pure scorer of all-time.

Rare as hell to see Hill AND T-Mac together since Grant was mostly in suits after he signed. Man, they could've been something! Not to downplay Shaq's importance, but as much as he helped Kobe, Kobe helped Shaq. They Lakers had ZERO dribble creators besides Kobe. Closest thing, Lue or George? LOL Shaq's greatest contribution to Kobe was he took up to 2 maybe even 3 defenders at a time and allowed Kobe to play what he is best at, 1 on 1 basketball. But at the same time, when Shaq needed a bail out out of triple teams, Kobe was there to either attack or dish to wing shooters like Fox, Horry, Rice.

The only thing that brought Kobe's averages down was his rookie season when he only played 13 minutes a game. Allen Iverson, Lebron and MJ were all starters in their rookie season and averaged 35-40 minutes a game. So if kobe averaged 35-40 minutes in his rookie season his averages would be higher than Allen Iverson. And kobe is gonna be in the hall of fame and Allen Iverson is not gonna be in the hall of fame! Remember if kobe played 35-40 minutes in his rookie season his averages would be higher than Iverson and prob would have averages 28-29 points a game if he was a starter in his rookie season. But kobe was on the 3rd shift cause he played on the lakers

Yes,the same Sixers with just one scorer against 2 Hall of Famers+ the best coach since Auerbach. Sixers '01 became worse since Mutombo arrive,but he was necessary since Ratliff was out for the season and no,he wasn't a factor against Shaq,the real winner of that series. You really think Kobe can receives what he got playing for the Hornets? I love Kobe too,but what he wins he did it with a big man inside the paint,that's a fact.He was lucky to find the Big Fella in his team. Put AI in LA and Kobe in Philly and at least Iverdson could be get a ring,but even if Kobe was amazing nobody think he could be able to carry those Sixers to the Finals. Again,nothing against him,but they don't play in equals situations.

If tmac practiced regularly to keep away from injury. He would've been the greatest to ever play. Hands down. Better than kobe, jordan, Jerry west, magic, ANYONE. his time in the league healthy he was one of the best in the league and he was still young when he was healthy so he didn't hit PRIME TMAC, then with actual work and not just his PURE TALENT he would've been the greatest

Before his injuries TMac was the most complete player the NBA has EVER seen. He was the complete package, a better scoring version of Lebron. If only TMac didn't get injured smh...
@Smeet9
@Smeet9 9 жыл бұрын
Zach no way tmac is a more complete player than lebron, hakeem, and the big o. and also if he was a better scoring version of lebron then how come in tmac's prime years (2000-2007) did he not average more ppg than lebron has for his whole career nor shoot a better percentage, not to mention lebron is a better passer, defender, and rebounder.
