That is one of the most excruciating losses i've ever seen and the fact that the suns lost the series makes it even more heartbreaking. Props to rex chapman tho he was a bucket

Honestly, even back then when this series was happening, everybody already knew it didn’t matter what team it was coming out of and representing the West…THE CHICAGO BULLS were winning the CHIP no matter what🎯 but hats off to Phoenix, even though it shoulda been Seattle💯

I hope Shawn Kemp gets inducted into the hall of fame. He deserves it for all the numbers he did for the sonics organization.

That famous shot by Rex Chapman was insane. Too bad they didn't capitalize in overtime. That was to close out the series and eliminate the 2nd seed in the West !

Man, the Sonics in the 1990s, when they were the favorites to win the first round matchup, when they were elite in the regular season AND were facing off against a very vulnerable opponent in the first round, Sonics always struggled in the first round in the George Karl era. 1993 First round = Sonics beat the Jazz in 5 games. Sonics won 55 games, while the Jazz won 47 games. Given, this is a Jazz team that was in their prime and had elite seasons in their past, and 47 wins in a season is still a good team. 1994 First round = Sonics lose to the Nuggets in 5 games, the famous 8 seed beating the 1 seed for the first time ever. Sonics won 63-19, while Nuggets went 42-40. Sonics were up 2-0 in this series. 1995 First round = Sonics lose to the Lakers in 4 games. Sonics won 57 games, while Lakers won 48 games. 48 wins is still a good team, but Sonics again lose in the first round for the second consecutive season despite being an great team. 1996 First round = Sonics beat the Kings in 4 games. Kings took homecourt when they won game 2 in Seattle to tie the series, but Sonics won game 3 and 4 in Sacramento. Sonics were 64-18, while Kings were 39-43 1997 First round = Sonics beat the Suns in 5 games. Suns won game 1, and won game 3. And had game 4 in Phoenix up 2-1, but Sonics came back to win this series. Sonics won 57 games, while the Suns went 40-42 1998 First round = Sonics beat the Wolves in 5 games in the first round. Sonics won 61 games, while Wolves won only 45 games. Wolves were also up 2-1 in that series with game 4 being played in Minnesota, but Sonics won the series by winning both game 4 and game 5.
