The male rappers that featured this song are Eric and Andy, and they debuted as the boy band, SHINHWA, later from SM label. And SHINHWA is still ongoing up to now.

Lead vocal is Bada, she's a renowned musical actress now. NewJeans is heavily influenced by SES and FINKL. There's plenty of stuff even older than this that are classics. Seo Taiji - You Must Come Back Home is an older classic that sounds like a House of Pain song. YG was one of "the boys" though he mainly just danced. At a certain point mixed groups were a big thing and was it's own formula. You'd have male vocalists/rappers, one cute bouncy girl, sometimes a serious female vocalist or rapper. One of the biggest is Roo'Ra, check out 3!4! probably their biggest hit. Their sound was reggae based, which was huge at the time. There's actually too much to recommend, even though it was the first generation, there were a surprising amount of groups coming out.

Korean pop music cannot be discussed without mentioning “Seo Taiji.” He was originally a member of a rock band, but he found people who were good at dancing, formed a dance group, and debuted by writing his own song. Afterwards, he achieved extreme popularity, to the point where he was nicknamed "Culture President". He also contributed greatly to improving the rights of artists, who were underprivileged at the time. After the group disbanded, he resumed his rock identity and worked as a solo rocker. So, I recommend his solo hit song “Ultramania.”

S.E.S! What a throwback 🤣 this makes me feel so old. The late 90s filter had all SM artists looking like they had no noses. I remember H.O.T had a couple of videos like this too. Though everyone's noses are all now visible in these remastered videos 🤣 Yes, SES is their names. Sea, Eugene and Shoo. Sea goes by Bada now (which is "sea" in Korean).

This is a hugely iconic song in Korea. There's nobody in Korea who doesn't know this song and dance. :) Also, SES and FINKL are the main first generation girl groups in Kpop.

Omg we have arrived to this??? I havnt been here for a while but i never thought you would ever react to this. SES was my shiiiiii! I’m half Korean and would buy tapes at the local Korean store outside the front gate of fort Leanordwood in Missouri. So nostalgic!

OH wow, this is great that you are doing this, not many reactors actually go back and visit 1st gen or 2nd gen artists. This would be a really great continuing series, I hope you check out more S.E.S. songs. Also worth checking out early BoA (also 1st gen). Oh yeah, I hope you also check out the original Dreams Come True from S.E.S. since you saw the Aespa remake.

I think this will be fun, it's all new to us lol. I think 1st and 2nd gen, maybe early 3rd if stand out or requested a lot will be the focus. I'll add those suggestions to a list, thanks We had already seen the Dreams Come True MV, I was curious when aespa made their cover... Turns out it was originally from a Finnish group called Nylon Beat

S.E.S is the first (considered kpop) girl group they debuted in 1997. I think this song originally released like before 2000s 😅 *im not sure tho i could be wrong.

Ya, S.E.S is the initial of their name Bada (Sea in Korean), Eugene and Shoo. The group name is pronounce letter by letter. Please react to g.o.d!! They are the first gen boyband from JYP. I suggest Love And Remember by g.o.d

Checking out older SM artists is a good idea since they have been remastering old videos (including this one). Super Junior "Sorry Sorry" and SNSD "Into The New World" and "Gee". There is a wiki page for under "Remastering Project" and it contains a list of all the songs. It is amazing how I can recogonize Bada right away despite being more familar with her on Immortal Songs. The killer voice helps too (she was the main vocalist). Seo Taiji and the Boys is what you are thinking of. Could Chris be thinking of Blackstreet? Their most famous song was No Diggity.

I figured having a throwback Thursday type theme would be fun and informative. It's awesome that SM has remastered some. I figured we could focus on gen 1 to early gen 3. At first I think it makes sense to stick to some defining/influential/hits type songs then on to deep cuts That is exactly who I was thinking of. And I'm not sure who Chris was talking about, Blackstreet would be my guess aswell, but who knows lol

The 3 songs I mentioned are all very iconic songs for the 2 groups. You most certainly have heard covers of Into The New World, if not the other two. Into The New World was also their debut track.
