Yep, the do-all was my grandads. He bought it brand new. It's amazing that you could buy new equipment in those days working 500 acres and we call what we do now progress. Makes me shake my head sometimes.

I wish I could reset the 4230 to how it was in that picture. It was his "big tractor" when he started farming. Then, it became the planter tractor and eventually just a chore tractor. There are lots of fond memories riding on the fender with him pulling a 4 row IH planter planting cotton.

There was a hydraulic pump that ran off the variable speed pulleys for the transmission.

@ we wanted to put one on our 4400 back in 82 but they all told us we couldn’t But didn’t want to put one on our 6600 It was too wore out In 84 traded for a 7720 man that was life changing
