To be fair it seemed fairly easy to make Cheryl cry, not because she was a faker but where she’s too soft hearted for her own good. Nice touch at 4:54 where Cheryl glances at Simon and immediately realises he needs more time to compose himself, so she tactfully goes first to let him gather his thoughts. Say what you want about her as a singer or even a judge, but Cheryl’s kindness and compassion can’t be faulted, she’s a nice woman. Poor Simon, we all like to call him ‘Mr Nasty’ but this audition proved he has a heart after all, he’s not as much of a cold and emotionless robot as you think.
