As someone that had the Rangeman on my wrist for the last 8 years and switched last year to the Mudman i can say right off the bet that the Rangeman is more user-friendly. The steel buttons are knurled and the quick lunch stopwatch plus the time stamp ability comes in very handy in my daily life,however as i mentioned in another review that you had done my aging eyes had the last say. With all that being said the Mudman is way more durable then the Rangeman. Most folks didn't realize that the Mudman is engineered and designed on purpose with certain features that we don't all like or agree. For example the independent ABC buttons...on the Rangeman if it fails you lost all the ability to use them as opposed to the Mudman. As for reception i live over 2000 Miles from Colorado and 8 out 10 times the Mudman catches the signal as opposed to 2 out of 10 with the Rangeman. Great Review again i really appreciate it.

I think that's what swayed me. The Mudman is too similar to the ProTrek I have and the more unique look of the Rangeman is a positive. Have a great week!!

I am active duty military and have had the Rangeman on my wrist for the past 5 years. It has been all over the world and I just love it. It would take a hell of a new G shock release for me to consider replacing it. It has even survived my kids teething on it. 😂

I always felt the mudman lost identity after its last iteration. It almost looks like a Pro Trek in G-Shock carcass. I have the Rangeman and am pretty disappointed with the comfort on the wrist, it feels pretty awkward and the compass function is poorly implemented. I wish the Rangeman would have come with the winglets of the GD 350. Thank you for the video. PS. I bought the GD 350 in negative after watching your video, and I totally agree with you, the negative display may be the best aside from Casio's Super twisted Nematic and MIP displays.

Completely agree on the Mudman assessment. It's very similar to the ProTrek series. I think that makes it far more legible...but it did loose some identity. Glad the GD350 is looking good! I love that negative display...the only negative display I can say that about.

I wore a triple sensor for like 4 years but just recently switched to an analog with world time and it just feels way more practical. Used to have a compass but did you know if you point the hour hand at the sun the 24 hour hand dial will point north.

One additional part, you bisect the angle of the hour hand position and 12 on the dial, it generally locates south (or north by viewing the opposite side of the dial).

Good comparison. Watches in this price range with these depth of features are not something I would buy, but I enjoy seeing all the tech. Thanks for the good content. Good for a watch enthusiast, who does not really have the ability to allocate a lot of money to watches.

Normal. Contracts isn’t quite as good as other positive displays. Very legible, large numbers.

My Rangeman not only charges faster than my other Solar/Atomic watches, but it holds at ”high” longer than the others, too.

Really enjoyed your comparison in details covering many practicality aspect in day-to-day usage. Share your observation of easy and fast charging of Ramgeman, despite mine a bit older. Question: I need to change my time zone to local time (let say I travel to German and has to set my time to German time) in order for my watch to receive the nearest signal to sync. Is the Mudman also the same? Never regret buying my Rangemen (have 2 😅).

Good question. I always thought the Multi-Band 6 would catch the signal and with the local time set, it will maintain that local time as it was set. I don't recall seeing the Mudman being any different. Thanks for watching and commenting.

En mi opinión el rangeman tiene mejor aspecto que mudman,aparte de que el otro aquí en europa cuesta 400€,100€ más que el rangeman y son las mismas prestaciones,lo único que le vendría bien a un super reloj como el rangeman una mejora de pantalla algo así estilo mip como el 5600 por ejemplo pero me quedo con el rangeman,buen video!

I like them both but I think I am leaning more towards the Mudman. I like the thicker strap, the bigger display and the wider stance. I do like the strap ridges on the Rangeman though. The Atomic time is not a factor for me because we dont have that. I wish Casio would make a community Casio and leave every design que to us. 🤩 Maybe there is an updated solar cell or collector in the Rangeman vs the Mudman. You cant go wrong with either really! I still love the legend status of the 9400 and I do like the new style of the 9500, we'll see what they do with the colors, but i'm actually getting into mechanical watches now, but I do still need a Frogman 🤦🏿‍♂️

@Realidealgear Indeed and a few more functions, GWF D and A 1000 series are tangable for us regular folks, plenty authentic nicely priced on EBay. The news ones are trying to have Rolex status but don't hardly keep the value. NP you do the same.

When everyone is wearing chunky, bulky plastic smart watches, I thing you can wear a GSHOCK anywhere a smart watch is acceptable.

I know that not everyone is going to live a rough and tumble lifestyle, but it’s bonkers to see a G Shock all pristine and new in somebody’s collection. All of mine except for the one I just got 8 days ago (I’ve been on paternity leave from work) are beat to shit. 🤣

The Rangeman 9400 is still better than the mudman. Not sure if they updated the mudman but the 9400 has the updated triple sensor version 3.

I like the Rangeman by a nose. It’s hard to argue with the legibility of the Mudman and better compass display on the Mudman. I like the older school look of the Rangeman.

The “fuzziness” of the Mudman display is that stupid compass display. Why did we need that? It was dumb on the Pro Trek and it’s dumb on this watch, too.

I agree on the apparent Protrek qualities in the Mudman.
