Throwing a Large Plate the Easy Way

How to throw a large plate or platter in just a few minutes with a pvc pipe. This is a great way to quickly create plates of any size. Just center your clay, I used about 4 pounds for these 13.5 in plates, then compress evenly with the pvc until you reach the desired size and thickness. Use a needle tool to create an even edge then a thumb tool to push the edge up and create your rim. Smooth everything out with a sponge and run your needle under the bottom edge to help remove it from the bat later on. This makes plates take between 3 and 4 minutes!
