Throwing a Spout, with pouring demonstration

How I throw my spouts, and what I'm aiming for in the finished piece.

I typically throw my spouts upside down off the hump. That way I can keep the walls thin and collar the spout tip to a nice narrow dimension. I score in a small groove while it’s still on the wheel at the point where I want to cut it, then let it go leather hard and wire it off. Otherwise I find my spouts are too thick to get the elegant look I want.
