I’m a little worried now, I ordered 1 inch rear springs and the same front lift you have, and I like the way yours sits, can’t believe there is no lift on the rear of that thing!
@austinreading14 ай бұрын
@@bradleysmith3963 usually the leafs on these trucks are bowed so if you get a taller block or new leafs that’s when you see a ton of “lift” but it’s just back to factory height. These weren’t as bad as usual so I didn’t do the usual AAL to get the rear higher
@bradleysmith39634 ай бұрын
@@austinreading1 I ordered new leafs from Deaver, I told him what I was after and that I did haul a little weight in the truck, I don’t feel mine are wore out but the truck is a 2008 with 200k, we shall see I suppose

@@bradleysmith3963 go look at them. Your leafs are likely flat or inverted. So your rear will definitely come up with new leafs
@bradleysmith39634 ай бұрын
@@austinreading1 they are inverted, atleast in front of the axle, Deaver offers a replacement that utilizes a new factory leaf pack with a full length added leaf when you want to haul additional weight like in my situation, I just hope I get the look I’m after, lots of money spent!

I have the same shocks in the front and did the 2" pre-load lift setting, the truck has zero sag when i take it off the jack and ride insanely stiff. You're aren't? I'm switching to a lower clip setting soon. Nice truck!

@@austinreading1 i lowered the clip to a 1" lift and it rides smooth with sag, everything isntalled properly, I even looked up the springs modeo number to see if it was an extra stiff one but it wasn't. ya, i dunno. Might be the spc upper a arms at a different angle

Was that a strategy to film in the rain or did you go with it hoping it worked out? They are good in rainy environments, the design is pretty obvious meant to take advantage of dirt. Still a good Toyota though, the angles and IP put into the 'design' still add utility in terms of wind, dust, water off Semis, and mud. It tends to deflect off and away. People underestimate, but the Toyota community picks it up and fixes it faster, how badly you can screw up an OEM product. Even I think it's a bit overdone that people still have 'faith' in Toyota, but on the other hand even a *slight* OEM hand waved at 2nd level utility leaves you the option to not ruin what should be a controlled safe, read *easy* drive to work with massive capability. You pay a LOT to keep that r&p and quality, rugged, useful and non-enraging interior. That's why mid-build Toyotas are popular, that's functional. You can't get away with flames and a fart cannon, not even back in my hate the Ricer days. It's nice there's no orthodoxy, if it was dogma then Toyota is destroyed. Toyota keeps the Land Cruiser, always a safe friend in the Truck/Suv world, the same way Japan keeps those "well we had to store all that enriched uranium that way" and "we launched that satellite with a cellphone" projects as notification they could probably nuke North Korea in a week with a precision ICBM miniaturized to work at intra-continental levels. But why do all of that when the safeties were built in? If you buy a Toyota, you get *punished* for encumbering your truck by removing something Toyota gave you for your money. A 'better than the competition' fender and air dam arrangement. An approach angle. A stock air inlet that will mid-idle a family across the long flooded road *you should not attempt to cross and should wait it out for*. And it wont' hydro the motor. Intelligent builds that take advantage of the premium monetary value keep quality built into Toyota by demanding premium ownership experience. It's nice Toyota acknowledges that there's a safe path to modification that's GenZ awesome or similar word, and practical for older people who are, just for suppostion, well-served by attempting to stay mobile with a Tacoma like this. You're not bad if you Grandmother can hop in your truck and go get a latte instead of moving it and getting in her car always parked in the garage. Maybe Grandma will take your Tacoma and a hurricane will flood the road and she'll try to drive back home and foolishly drive one-handed across a river that swamps out a Nissan Titan and probably a square-body Chevy with a summitracing.com LS cold-air cone filter because that actually does add 20 hp somewhere above 6000rpm and oh gosh it's only one splash away from not being an off-road truck it was some broke Redneck's excuse to rent to own rims. Grandma, safe in the Tacoma, missed that drama. She was cussing Melvin, his sister, and thier kids for pushing their cammed Chevy in the wrong direction and splashing water up over the Taco's hood and up onto the windshield, for a second the wipers gave a small mechanical whirr from behind the dash that sounded grave but was soon replaced by the reassuring swish before Grandma almost spilled her coffee flipping the lever to 'off'. This distracted her from checking the rearview for a moment, and she missed the Chevy suddenly stopping in the flood, water lapping ove rthe 22s, Melvin's paunch squishing into the non-collapsible steering column he got from the Ford tractor in the yard. Something to go with his rat rod Bud Light beer tap shifter knob and hopefully ironic Truck Nutz. Maw Maw didn't get to checking the rearview until the Tacoma, in Golden Retriever mode, ambled around the sharp bend in the road and Grandma was just making sure that nobody was trying to pass her. Looks like ubuntu is going to install on this Lenovo, cya.
