Nicely done! I am curious about the sheet of paper you placed on top of the jar after throwing. Is this to keep the lip from going out of round?

Thank you. You are right. Paper sticks to fresh clay and keeps the lip in form. The clay was so soft I was afraid it will distort when I lift it, even I use bats. Once starting to dry, the paper comes off easily.

What clay are you using? it is very groggy. Nice piece

Hi, and thanks. I use Spanish black stoneware ( PRNI from SIO2). It has really nice colour and surface. And yes, 40% of grogg. They make it with different grogg size, the one I use has very fine grog that is barely noticeable.
