I started my flashlight collection 2 weeks ago by purchasing a Thrunite Ti2 keychain light. Since then, I purchased 5 more Thrunite's, a RovyVon, and even an Anker. Like you, I'm enamored by these little things and I can't believe how much light they actually put out. My wife, God bless her, has learned not to ask the cost of my new toys, but I'm gonna have to pace myself because these things aren't cheap. I enjoyed your video. Thank you, and keep up the great work. 👍🏼

Well since my video predates your collection start I don't feel like I led you astray. Pawn shops are great places to find quality treasures mixed in with the other flashlight noise. Most pawn shop employees only know if the major brands like Surefire, Streamlight and Olight. I've scored some big wins with other brands.

One of my absolute favorite little lights is the amazing Nightcore Tiki. That little thing is mind blowing! Such a good little lught to have around. And fun to add to the collection. 😎👍

@@sknight0391 I'm definitely looking into the Tiki. It looks a lot like my RovyVon A1, which has been quite reliable. I just searched on Amazon and saw the A1 is only $16 right now, but I already have an A1. So maybe I'll grab that Tiki for $20, just to add to my collection. Thanks for the recommendation!

@@SonnyAli1973 You will LOVE the TiKi. I have a Rovyvon also & the TiKi is hands down better. The light output from the Osram P8 led is beautiful. And the lumen levels are all very useful....1, 15, 60, 300 lumens. I use the 60L all the time. If you order straight from Nitecore they have free shipping over $35 and if you sign up for emails you'll get 15% off your first order. 👍

The T1 has been my EDC for at least 3 yrs now. I never thought about throwing in a CR123 battery! Thanks for demonstrating that. The one thing I don't like about it is that it no longer wants to go into turbo mode. It will go turbo for half a second and then step down to high mode. It use to work. Looking over Amazon reviews, many people have this same issue which is a shame. Regardless, it's still my EDC.
@sknight03912 жыл бұрын
Try putting a new 18350 battery in it. Those things only last for so long and then they won't hold a full charge. The T1, much like the Olight baton 3, will only go into turbo when the battery is at 60% or higher. Anything under that and the turbo will just shut off after a second. So it would make sense that your battery just isn't holding enough charge anymore. Give that a try. I would love to know if it works for you. 😎👍
@the_hwyman2 жыл бұрын
@@sknight0391 it's actually an 18350 battery. It stopped doing turbo not too long after I got it so I'm not sure if that is the problem. I might still try that tho....

@@the_hwyman did you ever contact Thrunite to see if they would warranty the light? I just bought two of the T1 lights. And I would hate to start having issues like that. I just got myself a Nitecore EC11. These are discontinued, but some stores still have stock. It is also a single 18350/16340/CR132A device, and has one-handed, single button press access from the off state to both lowest and highest brightness settings and also to the red secondary LED.

Doc, It does appear your flashlight fetish is much worse than imagined Having seen a good number of your videos, I just knew we would see 20+ lights. That thrunite looks sweet, but I haven't had a lot of luck with c123 lights, but must admit using a c123 as backup was interesting. I tend to like the AA batteried penlights because of all the crazy features you mentioned. I may be showing my age, but I still like a light with just one or maybe a couple settings in lieu of all the new whiz bang crap. Thanks for sharing

I looked at the T1 last year, the Olight Baton 3 crushes it especially now with Black Friday pricing and the premium wireless charging case.
@SonnyAli19733 жыл бұрын
I just purchased the Baton 3 on Cyber Monday, but I think the Thrunite T1 is superior in almost every way. I don't like OLight's proprietary mag charger, but the charging case for the Baton 3 is pretty cool. But beyond that, i think my T1 outperforms it. But to each their own, right? The fierce competition is how these guys keep making good products and keep the price affordable.
@sknight03912 жыл бұрын
@@SonnyAli1973 very good observation Sonny. I'm kind of the same way. I'm very on the fence about whether I like the T1 or the Baton 3 better. The Baton 3 is almost too small, and I find the pocket clip very frustrating. I like to put my lights in my pocket lens down. So the T1 definitely wins the size and pocket clip category. I also find myself wishing the Baton 3 had one more setting in between 60 lumens and 300 lumens. 150 is a perfect amount of light to work with and still giving a good run time. So I really enjoy the infinity ramp on the T1 better. I would like the tint on the T1 to be a little more "whitish", but it's okay. I guess the best solution is to just own BOTH lights. 😎👍
@sknight03912 жыл бұрын
@@SonnyAli1973 I would like to see Olight come out with a special edition of the Baton 3 that is an Infinity ramping model. That would be awesome! And I hope I don't end up having trouble with the T1. I've read an awful lot of comments of people saying their's doesn't seem to work properly anymore. Problems with the side switch. And problems with "parasitic drainage" on the battery and the light not working when you need it to. But I'm wondering if all of that is just from a worn out 18350 cell? If they bought a new battery the light would probably go back to working just fine. Have you had any issues with your T1?
@SonnyAli19732 жыл бұрын
@@sknight0391 Yes, I agree a Baton 3 SE ramp-up would be a great feature. And a 150 lumens would be great, too. I've been using my T1 as my EDC for a while now and it's been very reliable.

@@SonnyAli1973 That is very good to hear. I hate finding a great light that I love and then it turns out to be a piece of crap. $100 is a lot of money to spend on two lights if they're going to end up being nothing but trouble. I'm glad you had good luck with yours so far. Hopefully mine will be the same. I really do love the T1 so far. And the W1 is a little Boss! 👍👍

I just got my T1 today in the mail. A tan one too!. Was quite disappointed with the greenish tint. But I knew the risk going into it with Thrunite. Mine is CW. Glad to see you can run a CR123A or 16340 in it in a pinch. I mainly got the T1 because I have a few extra 18350 cells and wanted another 18350 light as there isn't a lot of choice out there for 18350 lights.

I think TN saves money by not high-grading the LEDs so some are greener than others. Companies like Surefire and Fenix are known for only taking certain LEDs off the roll, while others like Nebo take almost anything. In the middle is TN that has a minimum standard. You might be able to warranty it for a whiter light.

The MecArmy SNG1 has been my go to EDC flashlight for years now. First one lasted for almost 3 years of everyday use before the UV bulb burned out and it didn't hold much of a charge...other 2 bulbs still work fine tho. The new one has been going strong for about a year now. Other EDC lights are the Olight S1R, H1R and S2R, H2R. The FourSeven Quark is another good one. And the Surefire Titan Plus. I've never tried a Thrunite or Streamlight but I here good things about both. As fast as battery chargers, I have always used the Nitecore D2 and D4 and they have worked greats for years and years

I've been through a pile of EDC lights, I was mostly using some 10440/AAA lights because they're small, take up zero room in pocket and still produce 300+ lumens on a Lithium batt. The runtime however was getting annoying. I've now settled on the Wuben C3, with TIR optic. Its perfect. 1200lumens on turbo, Replaceable 18650, Rechargeable via USB-C, more of a flood beam for inspections and up close work. Can't beat it. Ive got two dedicated USB-C lines w/fast charger in my work truck for my phone, headlamp, flashlight, Galaxy Tab, FLIR camera. It's nice to have everything on one charging platform.

Then also with that capability I always have control over exactly which mode is on.

If that's the one with the mechanical sliding switch, it looks interesting. That kind of on-demand switching seems to be an evolutionary branch that is growing rapidly.

So now that it's been 6 months, how's the T1 holding up. A lot of people seem to report that they have issues with their T1 after a while. Although it sounds like some of the issues might be resolved just by simply replacing the 18350 battery with a new one. (They only last for so long.) But I hope that's not the case because I just bought two T1's and I would hate to start having trouble with them. I wonder if Thrunite is good about warranting issues with these lights. Olight customer service is superb. They really stand behind their product. Thanks for the review. 😎👍

I just cannot have anything larger than an AA format and even AA is pushing it at times, I will not carry a thick flashlight in my pocket. And for modes, high / low / off is the absolute most I can do. I don't want any programming functions or lockout or any of that nonsense, I don't care if the extra modes can be ignored either I just want no part of them.
