Thrunite T1S: The Next T1 EDC...How Does It Compare Against the Original??

I love my t1 neutral over my t1s for camping but for edc the t1s is better for urban areas. Great video

Got this to compare to my Baton 3 and Sofirn sc21, it's kind of a hybrid of the two. No proprietary charger, like the Sofirn, but also more throw like the Baton. (probably even a bit more so because of its tighter beam) All 3 great flashlights. I do wish the Magnetic tail cap was a bit stronger on the Sofirn and the T1s and they had the same style clip as the Baton (reversed) for easier attaching to a ball cap but other than that I'm pleased with all 3!

I also like the ui on the t1s better, but thus feature is purely personal. As depending on the situation I would like it to just keep going higher then back to low, but at times I appreciate that after 5 seconds it will go to low. There is no perfect light imo, always a compromise, some more then others.

I just got my Thrunite T1s tonight. I love it, but I'm torn between it and the T1 for what I use it for. I usually clip the T1 to the bill of my cap when I go out to my feeding stations where I feed the local critters. So I clipped both the T1 and the T1s to the bill of my cap as I was refilling feeders etc. Switching back and forth between the two. Then I turned them both on at the same time while they were attached to the bill of my hat. I'm ruined, that is what I prefer now. The T1 floods the area so well and the T1s punches through so I can be aware of my surroundings at a further distance. It's like having a double barrel flashlight attached to your bill and both are so light I don't even notice. I guess if it came down to it, I would chose the T1s over the original T1. You guys need to try them both attached to your caps. My favorite flashlights of the dozen or so that I have.

I have T1 since earlier and yesterday I received T1s. While T1 is a very nice indoors and close tasks flashlight T1s is better for outdoors and some distance. And I prefer fixed modes and the mode spacing is well chosen so I am very satisfied with it. The tint is not as good compared to my neutral white T1 though, it's slightly greenish at lower modes. Not an issue anyway. By the way: it has USB-C port which is better than micro-USB on my T1.

I like both and use them for different situations, only ding to t1 is the Turbo, though I rarely use it, is that it is almost useless as it draws to many amps for any of my 18350, either stock or others. Where as the t1s can actually use its turbo for more then seconds in my experience. And yes I have multiples of each and have compared all in function, over a dozen of them together. Like in this video, the tis was much brighter then t1 due to the fact it was NOT at 1500l as my experience is 18350 size regardless of brand just cannot handle the Amp draw, same for the headlamp that uses the 18350 of which is well known not being able to handle the Turbo and version 2 is not as bad but the same.

It's my experience as well. Unless the battery is almost full charged the brightness instantly drops down at turbo after turning the light on. The output is simply too high for the size and battery capacity.

I prefer the cool white and 1200 Lumens is Great for my EDC 👍 another honest outdoor review.

Yeah, I'm like you...I do prefer the cool light for a smaller edc. With something more floody I like neutral as I can use it for lighting for my photography or video work, but for tigher beams or smaller lights cool is the way to go!

Turbo brightness is not important to me and 1200 vs 1500 is practically a wash IRL. I rarely even go into High mode, usually needing only moonlight, Low and Medium.

Me too. The floody character makes the T1 unique in its class. The T1s with its "normal" beam is like most other flashlights.
