A great video review. Thank you! I think it would be a good idea going forward, to mention the humidity level at the time of shooting these range shots. I know that 30% vs 80% humidity, really makes a big difference in what we see here from the video side, and to just how these lights perform.

You make great reviews! Helped me choose one of these powerful lights. I got the TN40s in February 2021 and has been a great light. I see the TN42 was revised o version 2. It seems very tempting now. But I do prefer extra spill at long range compared to a laser beam.

Also the rings that come on the shoulder strap are cheap molded garbage pot metal and break like candy if you bump them , I replaced the 2 rings 1 on each end to ensure that my thrower didnt just come loose and smash to the ground .

This video is 4 years old , I wonder what lights are better at this point in 2020 ? Of course keeping with the same throw style lights. I still could not decide which one of these to get but , probably the 2000 lumen light. Thanks for the video

Thats a LOT of money in flashlights! Thanks for taking the time for the comparison! You definitely helped me make a better educated decision on which one I want to buy. Did you do any comparisons with these lights to the Nitecore TM's? It seems like the Thrunites will crush the tiny monsters......??

I own both, and if I had to pick one, I would go with the TN40 over the TN42... It's the best of both worlds, great beam that has a more useful mix of spill and throw over the more dedicated thrower, the TN42... Both great lights, you really can't go wrong with either.

The TN42 is the better of the two because the battery will last longer as it only has one led and when using a spotlight you don’t want any flood as you want to be discreet and to focus on the target intended. If you want a pocket rocket of a flood light then purchase the Acebeam X80 which complements the Thrunite TN42 perfectly. 👌

I gave this Vid a thumbs up But id like to know how long it will go on a charge with normal use and id like to know how long that led bulb will last with normal use and id also like to know how fragile this thing is? will it break easy? $200.00 is a lot to pay for a flashlight . and one more thing Id like to know does it come with the batteries? or do I have to buy them separately? You mentioned something about it in your vid but it wasn't very clear to me. JKW

if you buy it as a kit it does come with batteries I believe. they have several different versions, you would have to check out their website. they are durable but as with anything if it drops from a high point or just right you could crack the lens. the body is very durable. runtimes are also listed on their website.

the size and shape of the reflector, determines the lumens for the most part and that's with the same emitter.eg. the 15,000,000 cp thor has the same bulb as the 2 000 000 cp same brand
@LumenChaser
@LumenChaser 6 жыл бұрын
Very wrong... firstly the type of LED and driver supporting it determines the Lumen output and secondly the reflector is what determines the Candela or beam intensity of the light so higher candela= larger reflector
