I also was a metalhead as a teen in the 90s... Heavy Grunge, punk, all that.i startet to play guitar.....back in the day i thougt there is not much other i could ever listen to seriously.....wtf. .... 2002 i quit playing soccer and started aggressiv inline skating.than i got in contact with people witch prefered other kind of music- rap/hiphop..not that common , more under the radar artists...cant tell you how uplifting it was during skatesessions.i digged deeper and deeper and i am so glad of what i found untill now... i still play guitar and listen to metal, but i love to learn to play all them digged rapbeats, loops ,melodies what ever you call it.whole riffs different than before, so i got myself also a new way to find out my own 'loops' on my guitar.🤤Now, I can only say there are so many gifted talents in all kinds of music, dont judge to fast, youll get surpirised...... Sorry for my bad english, not my language.....

I'm a massive fan of hip hop from the 90s. Lately i've been getting more into the underground scene of 90s hip hop and 'do you understand?' is by far one of the best tracks that i've heard. The beat is so great, has that soulful jazz infusion through it which just leaves me sitting here pondering on thoughts I don't usually think about.

I'm not sure I ever heard this before, but it still manages to take me back to the mid 1990s. The jazz-infused hip hop and rap back then, especially the danceable party / club hip hop, is just a whole different atmosphere from the mumble rap. I especially appreciate the mix of vocals, the rap with some singing, and those harmonies.
