I'm a massive fan of hip hop from the 90s. Lately i've been getting more into the underground scene of 90s hip hop and 'do you understand?' is by far one of the best tracks that i've heard. The beat is so great, has that soulful jazz infusion through it which just leaves me sitting here pondering on thoughts I don't usually think about.

I'm not sure I ever heard this before, but it still manages to take me back to the mid 1990s. The jazz-infused hip hop and rap back then, especially the danceable party / club hip hop, is just a whole different atmosphere from the mumble rap. I especially appreciate the mix of vocals, the rap with some singing, and those harmonies.

That West Coast vibe is ethereal. It's about the laid back lifestyle. It don't matter if you from the hood in Oakland, Vallejo, Pittsburg, Richmond, Hunters Point or you living nice in Simi Valley, Murrieta, Riverside or San-De, we all bump to the same vibe. And we do it ere'day cause ere'day it's something to do. This song represents that vibe.
