Thrustmaster T598 Vs TGT II Which One Should You Choose For GT7

GT 7 racer, I started on tgt2 setup: rim sf1000, pedals: TLCM cockpit: fgt lite from nextlevel racing, after watching ur videos i bought t598 and using the same setup meaning pedals:tlcm,rim:sf1000(i had to use QR adapter) and cockpit:fgtlite, and t598 is beast. It is fast , precise (in case of tgt2 it was always about soooo much correction in corner and fight also overheating of base does lot changes in steering(my play session is about 12hours(if there is track like suzuka i start at morning and end after midnight😅)in GT7 sport mode), in case of pedals the t598 works better with tlcm pedals in case of load cells and gas(tgt2 had lot of issues and setup over pc does not do anything on PS5( had to do correcting in gt7 setup)and lot of time make issues with gas pedals). So at this moment for person witch want do GT7 for competition purpose I am advice to chose t598 base it is big step and as TM said it is new era for TM users on PS5 . On end thank you men for your video about this wheel I want to go on logitech PRO but after watching ur videos about T598 i happy that I bought T598 (Iam sorry for my english 😅)

I knew u would warm up to the T598. Smoothness is amazing. Affordable. And power steering in a real vehicle is very smooth. I set up my T598 to emulate that. My style preference

Yeah it's great for the price and it's really smooth, I think the power steering is much closer to reality too.

@paarker yea no problem. If u have certain games in mind it can be a little more focused. I run the wheel base generally the same. But per game I will raise or lower sometimes dependant on the support for the game. Also the in game settings will fine tune the settings i use on the base. But wheelbase settings are as follows: FFB master 100%,Mode E, Inertia Off, Friction Mid, Boost low +1, Boost High +1, Speed Mid, Damper 0, Spring 0, Gear Jolt Mid, End Stop High

You should either use the pedals that come with each wheel or used the same pedals for both wheels. Great video however

Brother I really recommend you every time you switch modes on the TGTii you need to log out and unplugged the base completely also restarting the game is key. It has happen to me before when the pedals or the base is not recognized by the game properly. Even when swapping wheels you need to unplugged the base. The TGT II is still a beast 👌 Cheers

The T-DFB transducer might also still stop working occasionally in gt7 if its set too high in game. If vibration is set to 150 it might stop, but 120 works fine. I guess its a bug. I also noticed earlier they seem to have toned down the gear jolt effect in T-GT. For what ever reason.. It used to be much more effective.

I’m looking at both these wheels. In Canada, the TGT II is on sale for less than the T598 (600 vs 690). I would be using all the included equipment. Is the TGT the better choice when considering the included wheel and pedals? I’m partial to GT7 so the TGT II looks like it might be a better experience even if the FF tech is not as good.

Im here in toronto and I was in the same position last week. Tgt2 vs t598 and I ended up getting the tgt2! I like buying things fully optimized for gt7 plus the near 100$ difference. Can't go wrong either wait. One is tried and true tested with gt7 (tgt2) and the t598 is the really good new kid on the block with a bright future ahead.

I started with GT7 and a PS5 + PSVR2 + T300RS +sim cockpit some months ago and yesterday i received my preordered T598. Maybe i am the only one but for me the T300RS feels stronger in GT7 with certain cars than my T598 and also the Fanatec GT DD pro 8nm my brother uses. With stronger i mean the "basic tension", maybe it is because of the mechanical background with a belt etc. It feels more "ratchety" and robotic but stronger compared to the DD Wheels i have tested. The DD wheels feeling much smoother but the ground tension is weaker to me. Overall i prefer the T598 to the T300RS because of many reasons, its smoother, you can detach it super easily unlike the T300RS, my T300RS always feels like it has some "play" inside which i dont like. I also feel much more secure with the T598 in terms of reliability because i dont "thrust" :) the belt system over time, the mechanical parts can always wear out or the plastic can melt etc. I guess this is like the old bicycle ergometers fitness devices from the 80s with belts compared to the new ergometers with magnet motors. I mean my T300RS calibrates itself after every PS5 start and it hits the endpoints so hard that you think it will brake in a year or two. The T598 still oscilated, even in blue mode and newest FW but i dont have a problem with it. What i really hate about the wheel itself are the buttons for GT7, its so hard during a VR race to change stuff on that wheel compared to the T300RS wheel. I also have the feeling that the buttons dont work on the T598, sometimes i can not switch through the settings like Map view, brake balance etc. So that is really bad about the T598. Another thing is, i guess the early test samples of the T598 were different from the materials because my official version has a thick kind of semi glossy powder coating or something like that on it, its so obvious that its metal, it also has a huge thrustmaster logo on the top. The base gets warm, i would guess like 40 C, like an iphone during a stress test.

As soon as you get used to the T598 i suggest going back to the T300 in a month and you will immediately feel the difference

Dont know if the quality went down when they "updated" T-GT to T-GT2 wheels are the same apart from the "driving aid" and some recycled material in t-gt2 circuit boards. Ive had T-GT since 2018 without a hiccup..

Don't do it ita so soft thrustmaster has way more feed back u actually have to hold the wheel to control bc of the power difference i got the cheaper ge9 setup on 1 rig the difference is huge in vibration

Man.. not hot swapping - you propably have to restart the game for it to calibrate correctly. Also you messed up the "mode" button with the GT/non-gt slider. You dont need to use the mode button unless you play on pc or want to invert pedals. That said - you could test t-gt with the gt-slider off - that turns off the tranducer and its basically recognized as T500 or T300. Then its easier to compare the pure FFB. I dont know if you mean this exactly, but im interested if one can feel the weight transfer and suspension load/unload in T598 the way T-GT does. The weight of the wheel changes as you drive over bumbs or undulations. That 400 buck wheel should have been used in t-gt too..😂 and by the way - they have/had alcantara as the r383 rally wheel. Buy it if you can, its out of production i guess.

You have to hold the left paddle shifter and the mode button for 2 seconds to switch from T LCM to T3PA

@@frogboyx1Gaming you could propably bolt-on change any flat 70mm alcantara rim to the Evo as all the buttons are outside the rim spokes. Its just that for example Sparco R383 automotive rim is more expensive than the whole thrustmaster R383, so maybe buy that and swap the rims.

Tgt11 imo. Stronger, better overall. Ive always stated i think dd are overhyped in lower nm wheelbases. I much prefer dd wheelbases at 20+nm even if using much much less. The way it feels is just different. Its got much more density to everything you feel. Textures, details, suspension, tires etc. But im used to using 8+nm at all times so I cant go back. Once you adapt its hard to go back. You seem to much prefer less ffb power overall. Also load cell pedals are desines for trail braking control. Not normal braking like you do. We def arent all the same but I immediatly fained time from loadcells. But I already understood the concept of trail braking so it helped me alot.

Its wierd. I turn inertia on and when i let go on straights it oscillates. But i like how it feels. But i choose off for now because than i dont get the oscillation and still feels great. Love the t598. Cool vid👍

Haha doing a review and you dont even know how to turn it on properly,has to be shut down to begin with, gt switch pos and light will flash ten times for tlcm pedals, suggest you read the manual

It's supposed to be automatic once you set it up, and sadly when it blinks 10 times it gives me 70% brake and throttle when it blinks twice I get full brake and throttle. It's backwards for me
