FYI , those ‘push buttons’ (one each side of the Mode Selector switch) are simply lights that illuminate to highlight an engine fire in a specific engine. They do nothing other than light up on the actual aircraft.

I had the same AmazonUK trouble of preorder being cancelled too, but d'ya know, after seeing this, I'm glad I didn't waste my money . I will save up and buy the Honeycomb Yoke & Throttles as they look like a truly premium product . Up yours Thrustmaster ( Not Amazons fault, TM couldn't supply them, and it was TM's Amazon shop that cancelled)

Hi. Not worried about the cardboard filler and the simply printed instructions. They may not look so premium-like, but you only use them once and this surely is more environmentally friendly than more expanded polystyrene.

mine arrived yesterday morning- blue tack on the four corners sorted the tipping problem. Engine reverse thrusters a delight to use .

I had exactly the same thing with Amazon ... like you I preordered over a month ago ... annoyingly saw it was still showing available to preorder the day prior to release date ... and like you, email to say they are trying to get stock!

I had the exact same thing. Pre ordered 3 months ago and amazon cancelled on the day of delivery, no warning or anything. I reordered off Thrustmasters website. they seem to be getting them back in stock quickly but the sell out fast.

Almost, but not quite identical. Blu games did a direct side by side comparison in a video a few months ago. T1600m is more gamer-y. TCA more reserved and "serious"

Good review! I have had this on order since July, still waiting. After watching your review I think I'll cancel my order! It looks like it's pretty cheap and flimsy, I certainly don't want to spend my money on something that does not have support in MSFS, and that I have to wait 4+ MONTHS to get.

Hi Mike thrust master TCA vs the Honeycomb setup you cant compare them, they are way different bits of kit price wise. this is way cheaper Love your channel though. keep up the honesty

@@robsparrow i received my throttle on 26th sep, i put it away after the first hour, its simply unusable, i emailed them last month, they said they have update on 22nd which would map all the buttons along with ms2020 and xplane. i havent tried it yet but i read online, the result is still not perfect. I am very disappointed honestly. the sidestick is quite good tho.

I can't get my hands on this unit in the US. Backordered for months. (This and other controllers as well... ever since the release of MS Flight Simulator) You can buy it for twice normal retail or worse... but over here, we're still waiting for demand to simmer down.

I have to admit the throttle quadrant does look very flimsy. I have the Airbus joystick and I don't have any problems with it, its not grindy in fact its very smooth. So I guess that issue is with your particular one.

The pretty much same guts like in T16km makes me fear that the common Z axis jitter issue will be a plague in those units after 3-4 months of usage. I’m sad that they didn’t fix it at all, and there is not much choice in this price range..

@@SimUKReviews just bought the officers pack $270 AUD. Should be a big upgrade from my old Logitech attack 3 joystick. Was a difficult decision between the Airbus pack and the Logitech Flight Yoke System being only $20 difference in price. But i think the joystick can be used in more games.

Looks like the thought we`ll knock this up in plastiic then do a metal one to finish .... but this never happens you want a full metal cab to grab real effect not bendy cheep nasty controls ...if to me your a true sim fan or even on a budget buying one good peace instead of 5 junk plastic would be the road I would go down!

Yes I can confirm this, in MSFS there are currently no functions assigned to the controls of this device. On the Thrustmaster support website is a temporary configuration instruction, and be sure to install the latest drivers and firmware package. Under Windows 10 the drivers are not really installed but the firmware update is definitely needed. Thrustmaster also tells us that they expect the device to be fully supported with the next update of MSFS.

Don't agree with your comparison of the TCA Quadrant to the Honeycomb. Comparison should remain to other products in the Thrustmaster product line e.g. Build quality & price compared to the HOTAS Warthog Dual Throttles or even other HOTAS products to be fair. For $160.00 in my opinion is a fair price considering it's not a high end Thrustmaster product.
