I did start learning to play classical guitar many years ago, but because of my work as a university professor, lessons ended just half a year after. Now, after more than 40 years, I'm picking up classical guitar lessons with my Masaru Matano 400 (1974). Ms. Thu Le's lessons are indispensable. I am already indebted to you Thu Le, not just because of the lessons but also because of your exceptionally admirable personal touch. You are a very precious gift to the universe.

I wish I could taste your cooking. I'm spoiled living close to Little Saigon. I hope that you're able to find ingredients where you live to cook vietnamese food. Especially Pho! Enjoy your vacation ❤

Hello Thu Le. 2 questions: - what is the best position to play ? Is it useful to have something to hold the guitar ? - How improve the sens of rythm ? Thanks a lot and congratulations for Your Vidéos.
@Thuleguitarist3 жыл бұрын
Hello, - the best position to play is with the foot stool for your left foot to be elevated ( as you see in some of my videos, with the full view). You could also use a guitar lift which attaches to the guitar , that way it’s better for your back, but I am more of an old style person, I use footstool 😊 - to improve the rhythm, you ve got to know well about time signature, understand the accent. Best way to practice is clapping along a song/ piece, give accent on the strong beat, analyze the time signature ..

Slow practice changed my life. If it’s appropriate for the great Thu Le…

This is why i like Thu Le. I am also new to guitar. I started practicing it a couple of months ago. I jump into finger style without practicing strumming. At first, its too very difficult to play and my left hand fingers are too slow as well us my right hand fingers cant pluck the string accurately. But after watching your video tutorial on right hand and left hand practice techniques, i can now able to pluck the strings without staring at it. And the good thing is, i know how to use my right hand fingers without carrying a bad habbit. I am now overcome the obstacle for my right hand. Now, my problem is, my left hand fingers can play but cant reach some far as 5 frets notes. I can now play some classical pieces like Fur Elise and Sound of Silence easy tabs. I try to play your arrangement of "Historia de Un Amor" as i found its tablature on youtube but, its too hard. I cant play it. My fingers cant reach the notes.. hahaha! Maybe i need more practice on finger flexibility. You are one of my inspiration why i buy guitar. I am 34 years old actually but i think, its not too late to practice and enjoy guitar. Thank you for sharing guitar tutorial videos and im hoping to see more and more of it. God bless you. Im your avid fan from Philippines. ❤

I am glad to hear your story of your guitar journey. About the left hand’s flexibility, you just have to give it some times, keep practicing, everyday stretch it abit more. You can find my video of left hand flexibility exercises. And, wait abit more for Historia de un amor :) when you have good technique, that song is actually not so difficult. All the best to you!!

I play a right handed guitar, left handed (upside down). When I first picked up a guitar I held it left handed and learned all the chords in reverse. Do you have any recommendations as to practice this way or after all these years should I just restring the guitar to be true left handed? I love hearing your voice, you’re so knowledgeable and elegant. Thank you
@Thuleguitarist3 жыл бұрын
I guess if it works well for you to play all chords in reverse, it should be fine. But to be able to make further progress, and to follow all the standard technique for both hands, I think it’s better to restring and play like a true left handed. I also have some students who are left handed 😊

Hi dear Guitarist. How can improve us better sheet note reading? I know all notes on fret and i can read it as well. But i cant play properly from sheet. Always stuck on some point. And also how can we iprove our music pitch. Like playing what you hear. Thank you master

Hi my sweetest Thu Le, i spent 6 weeks holiday in Cyprus and this time was amazing! Now my question for part 2 of your genious videoidea. When i play with i m or a m i or any other combination over all 6 strings, i always hear an ugly scratch at the begin of a tone only on the bass strings. How to avoid this noise? With the thumb there is no problem! A big kiss from Sina!
