I planted 23 trees. They started at 1 to 2 feet tall, and I measured them every month for the last two years.

Love this video series! I figured the 3-5 ft per year was a stretch. Glad to see real results. We bought 10 and just planted them this month. We don’t have to worry about deer, but we will still cover them the first year for winter. Looking forward to seeing more on this.

Nice! They have been growing more each year. I think the 3 to 5 feet kicks in once they are established. They grew 2 to 3.75 feet last year (year 3). I’ve already started measuring this year. Hopefully they grow the advertised 3 to 5 feet this year. There will definitely be a Year 4 video at the end of the year.

I planted 28 TGG in April of 2019 - I didn't measure like you but, I can attest I experienced the same results as you and the growth continued through year 3 and now starting my 4th year. Very Happy with the results! My trees are all inside of a 6 foot wooden fence so I have had no problem with deer. Great Video ~Thank you!

Tks for your effort to record and share your findings on your green giant arborvitae. It is a tree that I am thinking of planting, since it’s so pretty. However, I do need to be sure of the specifics of the tree, size, height and width to allow space for its full growth. I learned that once it settled down after the first couple growing seasons, it’ll really take off. I’ll be very interested to see what growth you’ll get the next few years! Hope the deers will leave them alone!! Happy tree 🌲🌲🌲growing!!

Sleep, Creep, Leap as they say. The first year expect little grow as they develop roots. The second year roots start to take and the tree creeps higher. The third year the tree has more developed roots and leaps. I will also add that if you give them transplant fertilizer the first year to develop good roots and then fertilizer with more nitrogen the second , third year,..... and have well drained soil it helps a lot.

@@HowtoandReviewsOfficial I'm so Jelly. I am just starting some Cedars to block out my neighbors new bright blue Basketball court this coming spring. ( that was always beautiful green space.) I do not expect much growth at all in the first year. Next year I will fertilized them to maximize their growth. I would not expect 5 feet a year,, but I have definitely noticed a leap in the 3rd and 4 year.

@@icart83 I personally planted them 5 feet apart, which is the recommended minimum. I was told they would get 20 to 25 feet tall and 12 to 15 feet in diameter at 5 foot spacing. They will get bigger if they are spaced apart more and have more room to grow. Check out my video for the first year results. I went 8 feet because I was told they would get to 12 to 15 feet in diameter when spaced 5 feet apart. If you space them farther apart, they will get bigger. I would recommend 10 feet (at 5 feet spacing) if I can do it over again.

@@zappos49 Nice. I purchased mine from the link below, and used their guide. I also called them. They said with the trees spaced 5 feet apart, they will grow 20 to 25 feet tall. But, they grow up to 40 feet tall, if planted further apart. I recommend getting some taller trees to start with. I bought the small ones. They were a little over a foot tall. After three years, several of them are 6 to 8 feet tall. But it took a long time to get there. They don’t grow much the first year. If I could do it over again, I would start with taller ones. www.fast-growing-trees.com/products/thuja-green-giant
