Thank you for the update. I’m searching for my first RTT and both your videos on the Thule Approach have been helpful. One downside that I keep hearing about the soft shell tents like the Approach is that compared to a hard shell RTT they can be very noisy in windy conditions. You mentioned in the video that it was very windy, how was the noise in the Approach? I’m also curious, are you able to close the Approach with all your bedding inside? Thanks again!!

Hi, Not really any different from being in a tent on a windy day, I have camped for years in tents and in the rain for instance it can be really nice with the sound on the canvas, I would imagine in a hard shell in rain its noisier I only say this as I had a campervan and the rain hitting the roof could get loud, earplugs can easily fix this though. In the mixed conditions that we had I was not unhappy in anyway, and with any type of camping something you sleep really really well and sometimes not. its just the being out there and the freedom that you have that makes up for it. Not sure where you are but if you wanted to see the Approach you can always make a visit to us. We will also have them going into Black Friday soon, so maybe good to keep an eye out. Russ

@@hitthetrail Thanks Russ. I find the sound of rain hitting the tent very relaxing but when a tent is really flapping around from the wind it kind of drives me crazy. Glad to hear the Approach handles the wind from your experience. I’m leaning toward getting the Approach but also considering the ikamper Sky mini, although the high price of the ikamper is the major issue for my budget.

@@danb821-y9v Hi Dan, Firstly sorry for not replying about the bedding, we stored two additional Exped deep sleep mattresses (deflated) and two down sleeping bags and it was ok and still closed, two home pillows was to much though. Prior to stocking the Thule Brand we spent time considering iKamper which we also really liked, I guess it's all down to personal preferences, hard shell against soft shell and £ for £. We test all the products we sell and so my opinions on the Approach are from personal experience. We had a great time using the Approach and I would highly reccomend it, when I made the video Approach full set up this was real, not staged and without time spent practicing, the more times I put it up and down I also got quicker as learnt the knack. Please let me know if you would like any other help or advice. Russ
