I've just bought the Outway Hanging carrier, and realised my car has a rear spoiler similar to the one in the video, fitted as a manufacturer optional extra to the car. Thule Safety instructions section (E.1) suggest never mounting the carrier if the vehicle has an optional/additional rear spoiler - how does the car in the video get around this safety issue?

In the video the spoiler isn't extra or added, it's the original design of the car.

@Thule I have the same car, and the same Bike rack, but when I try to extend the top straps, the don't move. they are very short. it could be something wrong with the Bike rack? thanks

The levers on the legs need to be open to adjust the wires. If it still does not work please contact the store where you bought the carrier to get help.

Unfortunately, in many countries this rack is illegal due to blocking the view to the car's license plate.

Hello Daniel, you should always check your local traffic laws and regulations regarding rear bike racks, licens plates etc. when installing a rear bike rack.

The carrier can take bikes up to 15kg and not electric bikes at 25kg.

I have the same question. I am going to the trailhead at my area bike trail to get recommendations. I am also wondering what keeps the bikes from swinging. It looks like this rack may have a lower support or stop. The videos I have seen don't show the complete mounting of the bikes (how to keep them separated if mounting two or more, etc.). Good luck!

Can you open trunk??

You can open the trunk with the carrier mounted but not with bikes on it. Some electric tailgates can identify the weight as an obstacle and stop.

The carrier itself has a light weight to put less stress on the hatch. Bikes can weigh up to 15kg each.
