Thumbsup were brought to Viet Nam a few months ago, with there flavours/colours (dark/red/green). Interesting story about this: when Coco cola left India thumbs up took over the market of coca cola and when coca cola came back it was angry that thumbs up took over its market. To gain its market back coca cola devised a strategy in which it would bribe the retailers of thumbs up to stockpile them but not to release them in the market creating an artificial shortage. This made thumbs up less popular ultimately causing it to sell its company to coco cola.

It could be because of the different sweeteners used in different countries according to their regulations like for example cocacola in us has corn syrup but here in India it's cane sugar some countries add small amounts of artificial sweeteners.
