Thun Sutta (Maha Parittam ) | तीन सुत्त

The Maha Pirita, or Three Sutras, is a famous and revered Pirita in Buddhism. The three sutras that carry this are the Maha Mangala Sutra, the Ratana Sutra, and the Karaniya Metta Sutra. It is believed that reciting all these Puritas brings various blessings and protection.
1. **The Great Wedding Sutra**:
- In the Maha Mangala Sutra, the Buddha describes how a man can achieve success and happiness in life through pure marriages, Mandu Piyadu Vandana, Guru Vandana, and cohabitation.
2. **Ratana Sutra**:
- The Ratana Sutra is set forth as a grand structure, and recited with reverence for the three refuges of the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha. It is a disaster killer.
3. **Karaniya Metta Sutra**:
- In the Karaniya Metta Sutra, the Buddha instructs on the value and ability to create kindness. This is an element of Buddhist pirit practice as a foundation of determination.
Recitation of these three sutras is said to grant blessings and protection, and to destroy a man's chaurikapadas. In most people's lives this is highly respected.
