Thunder Bluff - Music & Ambience - World of Warcraft

Established by the wise chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof and his stalwart tribe, Thunder Bluff overlooks the verdant land of Mulgore from atop a series of windswept mesas. Prior to the construction of the capital, the tauren had lived as nomads for countless generations, often under attack by marauding bands of centaur. With Thunder Bluff’s founding, however, the proud and good-spirited race was finally granted a permanent home.
Following Cairne’s death in a duel with Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, Thunder Bluff was briefly seized in a coup by Magatha Grimtotem and elements of her tribe. In retaliation, Cairne’s son, Baine, launched a brilliant counterattack using a fleet of zeppelins. After he strategically divided Magatha’s forces, Baine recaptured Thunder Bluff and assumed his role as the high chieftain of the tauren. Having recovered from the recent unrest, the capital is once again a bastion of peace and security for Kalimdor’s tauren.

i remember the first time ever seeing wow, mulgore looked freaking huge with thunderbluff up in the distance, it seemed like it would just go on forever and i started to wonder where all the other races went. did they start at the other end of mulgore? after a couple of hours of watching a friend of mine play the game some guy helped us out with some quests around the later part of mulgore and showed us the way into the barrens. when i asked if this was still mulgore he told us to look at our map and damn.. i don't think my young mind was prepared for any of this. up to that point i as a dumb kid thought mulgore was wow. suddenly we were zooming out seeing kalimdor, azeroth and even a completely different planet out there in space. suddenly i realized the kind of experience we were getting into here and i was loving every second of it

Somthing I don't think people talk about alot is that moment when your new to wow and your exploring the starting zone, thinking that its soo big and expansive, and then you right click on the map either on accident or after a player told you to do it and you realize just how HUGE the world is. That moment is what got me hooked to the game. It was like magic.

Can completely relate to that, I remember fiirst taking the boat to Darkshore with my Draenei by accident, then taking the FP to Darnassus by mistake, it was then that the true size of World of Warcraft hit me. What a feeling...

​@@LeprosuGnomemy noob ass did not know about portals to SW from DA (if they were even there at that point), so every time I started out as NE and leveled up to approx. lvl 10 I would undergo a journey Darnassus-Darkshore-Ashenvale-Barrens-Gadzetan ferry-Booty Bay-Stranglethorn Vale-Duskwood-Elwyn Forest-Stormwind and then I could start questing xD similar thing occured when I switched over to BE, but then it was a portal from Silvermoon-Lordaeron and then a zeppelin to Orgrimmar :D

It was similar for me, too. When I started, I thought Mulgore was the whole world. I couldn't imagine much being outside of it in the game. I will never forget the feeling when I discovered Barrens and realizing Mulgore is just a small piece of the world.

My first WoW character. A Tauren Shaman. I truly did not care about stats or getting epic gear. I was all too happy to help the nice old Tauren lady fetch some water from the well. I didn't even RUN around Thunder Bluff. I walked. Spoke to everyone. Greeted them. Damn I was happy. Also, I learned later on that Tauren Shamans are pretty kickass. Which is a nice bonus. :D

The year was 2005. I had just watched the chronicles of narnia movie. My dad had played Everquest but he made the transition to WOW. I often sat and watched him play for hours. I spent as much time with him as I could, since he was in the military he was often gone for months. After studying him play he finally let me play and create my own character. Since I had watched narnia earlier in the year I wanted to create a Tauren. In that movie , there is a Tauren like creature that fights for the white witch. Anyways I created a Tauren warrior and with the randomize name feature I went with Natoko. After going through much of the quests with ease I transitioned to crossroads. This is where I made my home. I loved the feel of the barrens. The flamingos, gazelles, lions, zhevra runners. This was before u could get a mount at level 20. You had to wait til level 40. I ran around for hours on end just killing everything in sight. Just as a young boy. Now here I am in college. 19 years old and haven't played wow in years. However I will always remember these sounds and the feelings of me as a young boy , just waiting for dad to get home to show him that he taught me well.

My most played Toon had 1 year 3 months and some like 13 days of played time. The second one has like 8 months. I lost 10 years to WoW and while I certainly missed out on other things due to this, you always miss out on something while doing something else. Now playing different Videos of Everness while working, despite having missed out on reallife things in these 10 years, my heart still aches as I can not play WoW nowadays, nor go back an do it again. These 10 years are not LOST by any means, as I highly doubt to feel such bittersweet pain by remebering other things at all. No one in my family can understand me here, not even my brother who can still play the game, as he has no Kids and his GF does not want any.

Mulgore and Thunder Bluff hold a place in my heart, but I probably will never forgive Blizzard for killing Cairne and ravaging Mulgore. And Camp Taurajo. I wish I still had my Tauren druid and hunter, but Blizzard lost both somehow during MoP, along with another of my other characters that I had had since the beginning. The Tauren hunter was the second character I'd ever made in WoW.I felt like I'd been physically punched when I logged in and were simply....gone. No reason. Just gone. Data corruption or something. It took them 6 months to admit they couldn't bring them back. So with all that Cata did, and then what "data corruption" did, this is very bittersweet to listen to.

While a point of much ire in myself I accepted Cairnes loss as a part of the tapestry of Azeroths story. He was a pure manifestation of the true spirit of the Tauren race and was immortalized by his deeds and legacy to his people. I haven't heard of characters being lost before I would probably suspect a third party, but I can understand your reaction though, if my Tauren were lost I can't imagine that I would ever return.

I used to love Tauren in Warcraft 3 and was playing Orcs faction only because of them. Once I found out in 2005 that in WOW they will be independent with they capital town in Mulgore I cannot describe how happy I was, it was like dream come true. And they were really the best... i played it for years. Spend thousands of hours in Mulgore and in Tauren comunities in Barrens, Thousand Needles etc.

A program that I use to detach the camera and set the waypoints, the speed, FoV, etc. A video like that needs about 3-4 hours of recording, about a single work day from start to finish. :)

Oh, cool! I knew there's UI mods, but nothing as advanced as that. I think your cinematography routes are chosen well, both in variety and their focus. They evoke and satisfy that flow of memories. I've come across these initially for studying purposes, but I catch myself on occasion just silently watching. Thanks for taking your time to... encapsulate the essence of these places. It really is much more work than just throwing together an audio file with a background. Sometimes we don't know what we want without someone making it first. These videos are an emotional goldmine ;)

I never told this to anyone before because well no one would believe me but once at around 3-4 am i was in TB working on the action house when i saw someone without a name tag on a flying wryven casually passing by me it was TBC and no fly mounts could be there. I thought of that moment countless times since then in my life even after i quited wow.. i dont know why but that was something that marked me for life...! Maybe it was a bug maybe it was a GM but with all the power of my soul i know he was a real-life-ingame dude who didnt care about what blizzard allowed or not. I wish i could speak with him maybe again at 3-4am inside the cave over the entrance of Wailing Caverns, just thinking what he would have to say to me brings tear to my eyes, but that will never hapen.. In 7th grade, I remember making fun of poor Jeff and his friend whose name I forget who would role play as strange things such as "rogues" and "mages" in math class. My friends and I tormented thme all year for such nerds that they were. For the end of 7th grade field trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, I got split up from my friend during the voyage for procurring my spitball machine I had made from disassembling a specific brand of mechanical pencil and reassembling it as a weapon. They made me sit next to Jeffrey. We weren't on bad terms or anything, but I did hate this stupid game he kept talking about (just like I hated the idea of Lord of the Rings when my weird super Christian neighbors saw it and started acting like orcs). He asked me what game I played, and I told him how I liked Age of Empires, Madden, and Tony Hawk. He eventually started talking about WoW. For once I listened. He said enough to interest me, I still remember him telling me about the city of Ironforge. School ended, and my birthday was coming up soon. My Mom asked if I wanted a video game, and I said that maybe we could go to Best Buy and I would choose one. I was absolutely torn between some strategy game which I forget, WoW, and Morrowind. I was totally enchanted by the art and the packaging on the Morrowind + expansion double pack. But I couldn't shake the stories Jeffrey had told me about playing online with people from my class. After much deliberation, I decided on World of Warcraft. The woman at checkout was like "Oh! Nice pick!! My son loves this game! I have a shaman on ____ server too!" My Mom looked concerned. I got home and made a night elf hunter. I remember everything, including talking to a female night elf who /s to me in riddles and led me deep into the hills. I kept trying to get close enough to her to zoom in on her breasts. I made it to level 6 before I lost focus and made a dwarf, and by the time I was level 4 I set out to travel the world. With all my gear red, in a state of anxious ecstacy, I made it all the way to Dustwallow Marsh. Some Undead xx character kept hunting me. The game was so much fun, I got my best friends to buy the game. I decided to start from level 1 with my friend Josh. We decided to be Tauren Shaman. His name was something like Iamdashaman. I got mad at him for making such a dumb name, especially for it being redundant and having the word Shaman in it. I chose Magua, as I had recently seen Last of the Mohicans and thought Magua was a badass. By the time we were level 14 we basically just did warsong gulch, all the time. We would call each others house using the home phone and set it up as a conference call to get my friend Griff in there and use that to communicate. That worked until we absolutely torched the phone bill and were no longer allowed to do that. The game absolutely dominated that Summer. I think the game had been out for only a few months when we picked it up. It was real deal vanilla and no one knew what they were doing. Josh and I started a guild, and unfortunately I've forgotten the name, because I had named it and it was truly badass. We made friends with a Tauren Druid named Durseyturs, who was probably about 15, and we thought he was the coolest guy ever. We got him to join the guild, and made him chief officer. We had about 86 members. I started to become more focused on leveling because people in my guild were beating me, and it looked bad. Durseyturns seemed to level up once every other day, and got up to level 33 and eventually left the guild. Josh and I were distraught. We continued to build up the guild until we had about 150 people in it. At the end of the summer, Josh's parents took the game away from him because he would play Warsong Gulch compulsively until later at night than me, and his parents were worried. I was better about hiding my playing. I was very sad when he left, but there was no turning back. He would come to my house and watch me play for hours. I carried the torch for him. In my late 30's I was dungeoning with some people who were trying to grow their guild to make it larger and more competitive, and they told me they would give me a high rank if I got all my active members to join them. I brought 40 members to army of darkness, and I was officially an officer. The real life age of the guild members was all over the place but the guild leader, Fugger, wanted to gather as many people to the guild and then trim the meat. People were just starting to figure out what raiding was; Durseyturs had joined a guild called Renegade Soldiers, who had a lot of level 60's and were doing something called Blackwing Lair. After about a month, Army of Darkness merged with another guild, Erebus. The husband wife combo that led Erebus had a vision of creating a raiding guild. I got to level 60 in there, I remember I had traveled all the way to winterspring to level up because I thought it was pretty. Quickly thereafter, the guild helped me get attuned and I was RAIDING. Numerous Molten Core wipes, late into the night, somehow bargaining to use the computer later and later into the night. Sometimes tabbing out, fake turning off the computer, and running back in to play in the dark.... lying to my guild mates and telling them that I had lost internet connection. I remember our guild making it through the second boss of AQ then getting frustrated, and merging with another guild to form a guild called Nyx. I remember not being a part of the decision making process and being sad that Erebus was over. Our husband wife leaders, left with their heads down, and the serious raiders joined up with a previously rival guild to form Nyx. I remember it was a little uncomfortable at first in the new guild, but then BC came out and the group really came together. Our officer core was strong, we began to recruit players on our forums, began to have officers teach members how to mod properly, etc. Having a mic was now mandatory, and I was the only one who didn't have one, because the guild was 18+ for everyone we recruited, and i thought that if they heard my 13-14 year old voice they would start to remove me from the high end raiding. Luckily, I was really fucking good and we always needed a resto shaman, I could follow direction, read mmo champion, type fast as lightning, so no one really gave me shit for it. We always had our eye on Renegade Soldiers. They cleared BT 3 weeks before we did... but in the two months after killing Illidan, I was the second best geared Shaman on the server. I remember jumping around the mail station in Org, evaluating Shaman from other top guilds and tabbing out to check their armory. I was the greatest Resto Shaman, besides this guy on Renegade Soldiers. Eventually, I considered joining them. I wrote up mock resumes. They included a whole narrative of how I had been chasing them my whole career. But I could never have it in me to leave the people I loved so much and had spent years with. I would lurk in the chatroom they had on their guild website. I knew literally everything about their power structure and their members. I was friends with a couple of them and was in their 3v3group. I never left Nyx. Sunwell drove our guild to the brink of madness. We couldn't clear it until after they had nerfed it with the patch. It stole the heart out of the guild for a few months, and during this time, I decided the game had consumed me too much, and I decided to take it more casual for a while. Little did I know, I would be stepping away from raiding forever. Besides a few ulduar runs, I never raided again. Still, my reputation as a pvp enhancement (late bc) and elemental (early bc) shaman and a raiding resto shaman was notorious throughout the server of Vek'nilash. Somehow, I had taken my stupid guild all the way to the top, in a way.
