NASCAR fans and Race fans in general will love this movie. A very hard but realistic look at stock car racing of the Golden Age, when places like Darlington ruled the stock car universe, pit stops were long, and much like rodeo culture, beautiful women were there waiting at the finish line for the winners, and something worse awaited the losers. 2 thumbs up!!

Worth watching just to see Curtis Turner, Joe Weatherley, and Buck Baker, racing. Real men, proper stockcars.

A very good look at what stock car racing use to be like, hard to imagine anyone driving those death traps at full speed to win a few dollars. This was six years before another great racing moving Grand Prix in 1966. Considering this was a low budget film it is quite good.

Now, you have UFC fighters brawling for a few hundred bucks a night, until they make the big time. Which most never make.

I think you forgot about 'Red Line at 7000 RPM' (1964). The 1st movie about car racing I saw, as an 8 year old. I was hooked on the spot.

Corey did "schlock" or "drive in" movies, but, they endure, as snapshots in time, with the appropriate stereotypes in place.

My best friend in high school had a mint restored 57 Chevy with a 283, 4-barrel, headers, and a M-22 4-speed. We used to drive around in that car, he hammered it every day, it handled dirt roads better than a truck, 120 is about the top speed of those cars! It surprises me that all the 57 Chevy's in this movie are only 3 years old when filmed, they all looked tore up! My buddy sold his when we went to college, somebody bought it for their teenage daughter, she ended up rolling it at over 100mph, there wasn't a straight panel left, but she walked away! Great movie!

Bello e interessante!
