I wanted to share a personal story with you Eddy. My father had a TIA (mini stroke) when he was 73. He was taken to the hospital and prescribed warfarin tablets (blood thinners). These tablets prevented another stroke, and he lived until he was 97. This is what doctors can do for you-they can literally save your life with a simple tablet. Please consider seeing a doctor; it could make all the difference.

That’s absolutely 100% true, a mini stroke is normally nothing to worry about IF TREATED, a tablet to thin his blood could very well save his life or worse still stop him becoming a vegetable, great advice, the best I’ve seen, well done and let’s hope Ed takes it because we all love the man .

Time to see a doctor and lay off the alcohol for good. You also need to eat more nutrient dense meals. Have your fruits and vegetables daily too. It's not about saving money always sometimes you just get what you pay for. People under 50 can get away with eating junk and drinking usually although the older you get the more careful you need to be.

If you have had a mini stroke or something, quitting booze cold turkey will be extremely dangerous without medication. Even just beer everyday, it doesn't matter. I know someone who died stopping alcohol suddenly. About our age, drank everyday, only drank beer. Died of a seizure from alcohol withdrawal. The danger period lasts about about a week after you quit. When I quit 6 years ago I did a detox from home. Had to go the clinic every morning for 5 days to receive librium and get my blood pressure and heart checked etc. It's a serious thing Ed.

You need to get a check up. For a start your not thinking straight. You said you don’t want to use your health insurance to take unnecessary tablets & you will wait a few days. First - Even if your health insurance covers out patient I am pretty sure it will have a deductible & the cost of a check up including a blood check package would be below the deductible limit so you have to pay anyway & couldn’t claim it on your insurance. Second - Do you really think they would give you tablets like blood thinners & to control blood sugar if you didn’t need them. Third - You got your 30 day extension on the 18th of last month which was the last day of your visa & you don’t have many days left to wait around as by my reckoning you have to leave Thailand on or before 18th of this month.

Hi Eddie. Rainy season is Dengue season. I got it last year in Bangkok at 64 years old. I dont live rough...top notch condo. Effing terrible illness. But caught early and 7 days in Bumrungrad sorted it. Most ill I have ever been. But needs to be detected early...get those blood tests..important.

Might not be safe for him to fly back to England at the lower pressure and long hours in flight between hospitals. Get the scan in Thailand and get on the proper meds, and change diet.

I was in Pattaya about 8!years ago and I had terrible abdominal pain …I’d convinced myself I had tape worms ….i even took a sample of my poo to hospital … paid about £20 for a scan blood test and consultant to be diagnosed with a hernia …. Came back to uk and had it confirmed ….had an op on the nhs and now all good …. Lucky for me my self diagnosis was bollox ….

Get well soon Eddie - please take it from someone who has been in a similar situation and get control of the alcohol intake. I have 4 days a week with no alcohol and then 3 days with a moderate intake and it works if you can’t go sober altogether. I am much fitter and feel better.

Take it easy Ed. Sort yourself out first and worry about everything else later. We love your videos but can wait as long as it takes for you to get better. A roast dinner like that everyday will do you the world of good, but book yourself in to a decent hospital and pay for some check ups. I think the worst thing about the diet in Thailand is the amount of sugar in the drinks (beer, cold drinks from cafes, 3-in 1 instant drinks, etc) I can avoid the doughnuts and pastries easily over here (they are pretty awful generally anyway), but must be consuming about 4 times my regular sugar intake over here just through drinks. Over time it's a bit of a health disaster and with you living out of hotels your blood sugar levels must have sky rocketed. Take care and best wishes to you 👍 👍

In regular beer sugar gets converted into alcohol & CO2. So in 12 oz of regular beer has 0 grams of sugar. 12 oz of alcohol free beer has approx 28 grams of sugar & 12 oz of Coke A Cola 39 grams.

Eddie if it is gout - get some Colchisine (you can get it at any pharmacy) .. if you have issues with gout you can take alopurinol daily and then any attacks will be very rare. I also recommend Pattaya memorial hospital. Not just to Eddie but anybody who's in trouble healthwise. It's a mid-range Private hospital. The service and cost are both very good. Not perfect, but solid.

Ed, I am pleased to see you out and about but you do look tired, and you have described some symptoms which to me warrant seeing a Doctor urgently. I would also go to Boots at The Avenue. They sell some really cheap (5 baht?) rehydration salts in individual sachets (orange flavour) I would get some of those, mix it with big bottles of water, top up your body salts, and rest in the room with the a/c on. Hopefully you are just tired out, but make sure you are well rested, properly hydrated and see a Doc ASAP. Most of us watching are probably about your age and reading the comments everyone is supporting you and hoping you get yourself checked out. All the best. 👍

You should definantly get checked out by at least a pharmacist Eddy. There are some tropical bugs that need medication to fix. I had a leg swell up quite bad when I was there, I showed a pharmacist and they gave me medications that fixed it within a few days.

I struggle with gout. Though there is no cure, I recommend more fiber, ideally whole food plant based diet. Increase your water intake to flush the uric acid from your kidneys. Also, see if the pharmacy will provide you with allopurinol or uloric tablets. Gout shouldn't cause fatigue; the terrible Air Quality in SEA may be taxing your oxygen levels. Phu Quoc in Vietnam or Phillipines tend to have good AQI.

I think he was going to Cambodia because the tourist visa he was on was likely going to run out. Now he's had a stroke, don't what he's going to do. If he overstayed, then he may not be able to get back into Thailand again.

Take advantage of your situation now is the best time to get treatment with your insurance and being in Thailand. The health system here in uk sucks, massive waiting list and doctors and hospitals that just don’t care anymore. You’d be much better getting treated in Thailand. Look at it as a blessing, you’re in the best place for private treatment,

true this. my primary physician and dentist are in southeast asia although i am only there 1/2 of the year. i saw my mom wither away and die in a nursing home in the usa, jabbed during the wuhan flu. it is ironic that modern medicine was invented in the u.k., usa, western europe, but it is now better to be treated in southeast asia…

Gout can be EXTREMELY PAINFUL and 100% debilitating while flared up. Get your Uric acid level checked and if high, start taking 80mg Febuxostat daily
