Good review. Skated my first set of Thunders today after riding Indy for countless years. They’re very interesting. They feel tight and loose at the same time. You’re totally right about the stability. Feels like you turn on the corners of your board. Very responsive indeed.

They are great for grinds and street skating, but they just don’t carve a bowl like surfy Indy’s

@@TaylorPhase couldn’t have said it better myself. Also, the grind didn’t feel great. I flat out stuck on a very waxed curb that normally grinds no problem. Obviously I don’t have grooves yet but usually the very first grind on new trucks should go pretty easily. Bushings are cracking right away too. How long do Thunder bushings usually last you?

These are the best trucks hands down on the market! The Thunder Titanium lights i have the 147's also i own the Independent forged titanium 144's both are amazing trucks lol had to have them both! Btw my Thunder titanium lights 147's are customized with all custom titanium hardware from Japan! Here's what's on the truck? It has 1 top titanium bushing washer cup, and it has 1 bottom titanium bushing washer cup/2 Titanium hollow kingpin's/2 Titanium kingpin nuts/Titanium 7/8ths Allen key hardware/4 small titanium nuts that screw on the 7/8ths hardware /4 titanium Axle nuts/Tekton Precision-Profiled XT Steel bearing Spacers/Bones hard bushings/Riptide pivot cups/Bones Swiss Ceramic bearing's/Powell Peralta Dragon Formula Green Dragon 52mm wheels. The titanium hollow kingpin was installed by my local skateshop if anybody interested in buying a titanium hollow kingpin that's actually hard to get! in matter of fact the only comapny i knew that made them were theeve came in a pack of 2 and they were expensive i used to buy mine on Amazon but they are discontinued now. the link is below they will be shipped from japan! stoke-shop.com/collections/all/products/stoke-titanium-kingpin

I like how Thunders also break in fairly fast and their bushings don't bust as much as Indys. Their turning is like riding a small but stiff snowboard

Good video, thanks. What would be the perfect size wheelbase using Thunder titanium light trucks 148's (no riser) on a medium concave 8.25 deck? I am 5'10" size 12 shoe (why I thought 8.25 would work for me) Also looking for good 8.25 deck ideas with the proper wheelbase if anybody has a few ideas for boards that could help me decide. I would really appreciate it. Thinking Spitfire and ceramic bearings as well but not sure which size of f4. Used to ride Independent (1987) and looking to get back into this after 35 years Thanks.

i ride 8.5 and my shoe is 12/13. some of my friends 8.7 9 inch wide boards but i cant do it. wheel base mostly comes down to what youre skating. if youre into tre flips and fast flips, a short wheel base helps. if youre riding bowls and transition, a wider wheel base makes you feel more stable

if you want shorter wheelbase thunders, skate top bushings on the bottom too, that makes them push in, making it a shorter wheelbase!!!

What size wheels are on those trucks? I ride 52mm but get wheelbite on my team 147s so I'm switching to team 148s to get the extra 2.3mm height #ThunderTrucks4Life

I usually order 50mm but I’ll ride them down to 44 until they need to be replaced
