Born in 53 here, wonderful effects, especially with their budget. Jerry Anderson created Andy Pandy, Four Feather Falls, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Terra Hawks, a priest detective, and many more.

This particular episode was the closest to the horrors of 9/11 Except the ESB was the tallest in its day and pictures of the wreckage very similar to ground zero. Also the twin towers collapsed above the Mall where people became trapped, a lot of uncanny similarities here. Anderson was more than a inventor/puppeteer /director he was a visionary/mystic! right down to Neds electric scooter (final scene.)

Thunderbird 2 had foward swept wings like the Grumman X29. Way ahead of it's this Thunderbirds show.
@stubmandrelАй бұрын
Like the Junkers 287. The lifting body design of Thunderbird 2 also reflected the Silbervogel. And Thunderbird 1 bore an uncanny resemblance to the A4b (winged V2 missile).

@stubmandrel Is let's not forget that thunderbird 1 Had variable geometry wings, like the F14 and F111. Also VTOAL , like the Harrier and F35.

Got to laugh at the plot device of the camera detector. In reality anyone on the ground could have filmed them flying over. They were hardly invisible. Plus security cameras, satellites. Was never going to work.
