The ending of the Thunderbirds Are Go movie, with the Thunderbirds theme song being played by the Royal Marines always brings a joyful tear to my eye. Thunderbirds isn’t just a British series, it’s a British Masterpiece! I find that the world would’ve been very different if Gerry hadn’t created Thunderbirds, this show was my childhood! As an adult, it’s always one of my top favorites! Thunderbirds ARE, and will ALWAYS BE GO!🌩🕊

Andrew Hamshare Hey I'm sorry here about your loss. I lost both my parents this year. Sir, my heart goes out to you as I stand with you offering comfort, heart to heart and soul to soul!!!! I remember seeing the Thunderbirds as a child. This was one of my favorite shows. The theme always stood out to me. I think of this theme sometimes, when I'm inspecting and preparing my 10 car train for service in the mornings in NYC. And when I'm ready to proceed into service I call out over the radio to the train dispatcher in the tower: 'THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!!'🙂💪🏻👍🏻

Your comment makes me smile reminiscent of 1966 when Thunderbirds was aired in Japan on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. Kids on their way home from school on Saturday afternoon used to remind each other saying "Make sure to watch Thunderbirds!". We never failed to keep this commitment, as missing it meant being left out of boys' conversation on the following Monday. Such was its well-deserved popularity with witty plot, exquisite marionettes and superb music by Barry Gray, one of the prodigious but unsung British composers along with Ronnie Binge.

The beauty of Tbirds, Supercar, Stingray and all of Gary Andersons work is that it absolutely spurred your imagination. As a kid, I was enthralled by Tbirds and I used to draw each craft on paper, cut them out and glue them to cardboard and then play for hours on the floor with my green soldiers and Matchbox cars. Can you imagine a kid today doing that?

That background of deal barracks bring back memories ! I spent a week there square bashing & basic training in summer 1977 when i was one of afew hundred who spent time there we came from all over country - staying there on a basic training course as just as marine cadets !! The white garages at one side of parade square at the time the household-cavalry were using it, there was the church behind not in the picture but was often used for ironing our blues uniform , mess room was a good food there & a cinema they also shown us training films on safety films eg - how weapons are not used properly etc ..The end of the week we were parading with the junior marine band to the commander of the barracks !!!
