Thunderstorms at Kangaloon / Bowral Jan 15, 2023

A slightly disappointing chase with the main problem being too many storms formed so it was hard to get out of light anvil rain. I saw quite a lot of CG lightning - but none of it was real close and a lot of the best strikes landed left and right of where I was pointing the camera.

I thought you said you got baited out to Goulburn? was this earlier, that first timelapse looks awesome, rotating on a wind convergence area?

Yes these storms were earlier around 3-4pm. I didn’t target Goulburn due to likelihood of drier westerlies out that way, I only went there as a final play - saw that 30 km gap on radar between the highlands clutter and the storms approaching Goulburn from the south

@@stormsandfishing5448 I was in Port hacking for a holiday but in the Sydney area so we didn't get anything.
