I own moc toe style boots from Red Wing, White's, Truman, Grant Stone and recently a pair of 405 Indy boots. My favorite moc toe boot is the least expensive of my collection, that is a Thursday Diplomat. They are the most comfortable and have a less clunky toe design than the others. The other brands are all nice boots and may out last the Thursday's, but I really love wearing these boots. I took a walk today to start braking in the Indy boots, after I got back, I put on the Thursdays and wondered why I just spent six hundred bucks on the Indy boots. Maybe over time the triple cost of the Indy's may pay off, but I doubt it. I love your reviews!

The olive suede is INSANELY comfortable. Only downside is that it’s very thin. And with the height of the boot, the ankles get flimsy and go placid rather fast. It’s also less practical for exploring for the same reason. And they tend to not come with an adequate amount of wax so you have to end up putting more wax on it. I used otter wax boot wax.

Nice, never expected to see this of all boots on your channel. It's pretty much the one boot from Thursday I've been interested in. I've owned a pair of black label shearling hiking boots from them, and a pair of captains, but Thursday isn't really my thing. The Explorer, though, is the exception from what I've seen.

My Dad is an Army vet and growing up he would always have his shiny pair of black combat boots, polished and ready for drill. Anytime I see black service boots, especially smooth grain with a cap toe, it makes me think of those. I just can’t wear them out of respect for him and others who served.

Handsome boots that are priced competitively. The only reason I won’t get them is the lack of gusseting with the tongue. For an all purpose and all weather boot that’s a feature that should be present.

I actually have a pair of explorers in dark olive suede. I've had them for 15 months now and the only major complaint I have about them is the outsole. It's made of some weird high density foam and after working 40 hours a week in these over the summer, the tread is almost completely worn down after only. I haven't been wearing them often in the past 6 months so all that tread was lost in less than a year of ownership and only a couple months of hard wear. The crosses in the middle are all gone near the ball and heel of the sole, and the outside lugs are very shallow compared to when it was new. I honestly have no idea why Thursday thought that a foam outsole was a good idea. I'm definitely not investing in a resole because I want my next quality boot to be a pacific northwest boot like the White's bounty hunter. I also have a pair of Thursday captains and a pair of Solovair derby boots that I also wear, so I'm not in dire need of a new outsole on my explorers. Anyway, just thought I'd point out a serious flaw in this boot that nobody on the internet has pointed out.

Have you stepped into deep water with them? Do they let stuff into the boot? Given it doesn't have a true gusset to guard from that?

I will have to give Thursday Boots...another chance. I really, really want to like Thursday Boots...but I just don't. I have a pair of black Executive cap toe oxfords, and a pair of brown Captain boots. It's the leather on them...that just doesn't sit right with me. Now...out of all fairness, Thursday Boots, are a good buy for the money. I realize that. However...I am just having a hard time getting by the leather quality. It just doesn't seem...well...quality enough. But I am thinking of getting another pair, in Cacoa brown leather. Not sure what model to get yet...but I am considering it. Like I said...I really am trying to like Thursday Boots brand...but haven't been all that impressed, honestly. Great video, thanks for the effort in making it.

Thursday thought of everything, Dale? Did you forget to mention the Thursday Explorer does NOT have gussets? If these boots are to be used for exploring and all that rugged, exploring stuff then, there's going to be damp feet and debris inside the boots.

12:01 That's interesting, i figured Thursdays were produced in Mexico as the price of the Explorers here is around 130 dollars right now, the leather being from Nuevo Leon confirms that. And i am so glad they actually manufacture up to size 16, i've struggled with footwear my entire life so its unbelievably nice to just find them available in the dimensions i need.

Don't have any but my wife has the same leather in a chelsea. They seem nice enough and I actually like the worn in look after some time with them. Was considering the new Titan or like my wife some matte black chelseas to knock around in.

The French Roast Vanguard is one of my favorite colors of leathers. It’s just a beautiful ruddy brown. Too bad the 1/2 down smashes my toes. I can barely wear them with thin socks.

@@aradoran you sound like me and sadly, this probably means most "dressy" lasts are not for you. Check out Wolverine 1K mile when on sale, Truman 20 last, Grant Stone Floyd last (brass boot). Those have wide toe boxes even in D widths, and I think one of those may work for you!

If you are not living in the States. Think twice if you want to buy boots from Thursday. I’m in Canada and purchased from Thursday. Delivery, not received after two weeks of wait, is terrible and return is costly as you need to cover the international delivery fees. Just my personal experience.

They have no Gusset which is laughable for the price point and actual makes no sense at all for an outdoor boot especially considering the rest of the materials as completely defeat the object. Even Docs to much, much better than that.

These are a good option for guys on a lower budget or just getting into GYW boots. At least they could be resoled and potentially upgraded with a leather midsole, vs a cheap cemented big box shoe store boot or shoe. Some of their upper leathers aren’t that bad either. I get your objection to the brand though, and the sizing recommendation to go 1/2 down has burned me as their boots run too narrow.
