Painkillers
In this edition, I am not talking about my favorite drink in the whole wide world that they serve at the Beach Bar in St. John in the US Virgin Islands, where I wish I was today, but unfortunately I'm not there. But anyways...
I'm talking about the difference between vitamins and painkillers. Vitamins are something you take on a regular routine basis. They help boost your immune system. They help. They prevent certain things from happening.
Painkillers in contract are used as a last resort, sometimes after a traumatic injury or after a chronic injury has turned bad and now you need immediate relief.
If you also look at the list of things in a vitamin, you don't find that there's a lot of warnings. You find a ton of warnings when it comes to painkillers. You sacrifice the relief of the pain for some side effects, which can be very detrimental.
In the business world, we have very similar things. There are things you can do in your business that are like vitamins. They don't produce immediate results, and you need to do them on a regular and consistent basis. They seem very boring and sometimes you're like, is this even working?
Versus what happens is you ignore certain things in your business, things get horrible and you need some type of instant relief, but that relief comes at a price. There is some penalty for it, either high cost or sometimes giving up control or changing the way you do your business or having to implement a brand new process.
Look at your business and make sure that you have prevented the need for a painkiller, that you have taken your vitamins. Do some regular and consistent activities to help lead generate, to help retain clients who you've already created and service them well. I hope this analogy helps when you're looking at your day-to-day in your business and what needs to be done. Sometimes that boring old vitamin is the best thing you should be doing.Hope you have a great day. Talk to you later.
