Not as great as you think. Thursday and At The Drive In were the few bands that were worth anything in this whole scene for me personally. I know a lot of people who will disagree with me though. A lot of bands just ended up sounding exactly the same and it became generic after a while.

I'm a straight up metal head, and a professional drummer, I've played in death metal bands and doom metal bands all over the country and parts of Europe, and I can say this without any embarrassment, this band was one of my favorite bands back when this album came out, in fact a club owner, and promoter gave me some tickets to see these guys when they toured this album, I sat down with these dudes and bought them a round of drinks, and a round of smoke. Good dudes too all of them were actually surprised a metal head like myself was that into them, they gave me some merch and needless to say I showed these dudes a cool night in my home town. Good times, i was 23 when this album came out, and a seasoned pro in music and drumming, and these dudes were a breath of fresh air rock wise. Just straight up kickass rock.

I remember it was this song along with Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" and At the Drive In's "One Armed Scissor" getting air time at the same time and it feeling like a new sound was being ushered in to the mainstream. That didn't exactly happen. Jimmy ended up being way more pop radio sounding than I was hoping. Thursday I liked but wasn't a fan of the screaming at the time. ATDI were and forever shall be my gods. It was definitely an exciting time musically. Felt like a lot was going on in every genre.

I was 18 years old and had finished high school about a year before and took a year off before college, was getting ready to go away... I felt like such an adult... Lol... an adult who would lay in my PARENTS' hammock in my PARENTS' yard listening to this album on my DISCMAN. I'm taking a trip back in time on this icky, foggy November morning... especially with all of the music I am seeing being recommended to me on the right, bands I hadn't thought of in a long time.... like Finch and The Used (who I also adored). And the mention of Saves The Day's "At Your Funeral".... I am about to go look for that one, I haven't heard that in YEARS. Music definitely seemed a lot more exciting back then... I don't know if it really was or if it just seemed that way because I so much younger. I just know that I don't hear a lot of stuff to get excited about anymore. But this has been fun, going back to listen to so much of this stuff... sharing some of it with my husband. :)

Mainly, the song just goes between A and F, so those are the main notes the bass is holding down in this song.
