i use rethink dns for android and it works really well. the buid in firewall is very nice for some samsung app that keeps re-instaling themself

I use NextDNS. It seems complicated at first, but when you get used to it and the pattern of your settings has been obtained and determined, it becomes easy. It's like giving back your rights as network manager to your own device. Even using the free mode is enough for 1-3 devices with internet usage that isn't too heavy, per month (in this case it becomes free forever). Heavy network users with quite a lot of devices or small to big enough companies are certainly not enough, but the cost is also reasonable and incalculably expensive. You can even combine it with other security and privacy settings to thicken it according to your needs, from partial to total blocks.

@Scranny I use the wrt3200acm from Linksys, but I would NOT recommend it. It's older and some of the functions don't properly work with open source firmware. Instead, I suggest you pick a firmware, then see what the top compatibility options are for that firmware.

I'd still recommend all the other suggestions in the video though, since the toggle alone won't prevent all forms of tracking. -H

I use a selfhosted DoH server and use a profile on iOS so everything goes thru it even if I’m outside. I also block known DoH/DoT domains & IPs and redirect all dns traffic to my dns server at home if a device tries to bypass it

@@siddheshgunjal1248 ok thanks. By the way GBoard sends summaries of your keystrokes to Google via a method called "federated learning". You can disable it in the GBoard settings, but maybe use a different keyboard altogether

@@Scranny I already have disabled it. Best alternative I found to Gboard was Floris board (closest to Gboard feature wise). But the reason to stick to GBoard is use of combination of language, For example. If I want to type in Hindi or Marathi, I can type words pronunciation in English and it will automatically convert the word to native language. I'll happily switch to florid board if they include the work suggestion feature because Floris board has some features that even Gboard doesn't have. But word suggestion is something very crucial without which I cannot switch to florid board.

afaik netguard and blockada cant be run at the same time, cause both of the apps are setting up a virtual VPN to pass your traffic through, but android only can make one virtual VPN at the same time.

subway surfers no longer runs when its internet access is blocked by a firewall, it detects that the device is connected to the internet but the app isn't and keeps trying to connect until it times out

Could this be an alternative to having a degoogled phone? Also which is better grapheneos or lineage? I just bought an galaxy s10e and i cant put graphene on it. So im wondering would switching to a pixel with graphene is better or just keep the s10e and install lineage. Or maybe just do wat u did in this video and call it a day Please let me know

@Techlore Can you comment about WeVPN going out of business? Despite having 2 more years on my subscription, I didn't even receive notification of them going belly-up. The only reason I found out was because WeVPN quit working on all my devices.

I believe before we learn anything about privacy tools all the personal information has already been collected. Unless you're doing smth very secret or serious I don't see any reason for protecting your personal data. No worries, they already know everything about you! So what's the point?

Might be google play store being annoying again if you use that, also be wary of installing the right exodus, better be sure and thinking twice, also perhaps a setting preventing something either the system itself or again google play store

I must be fairly clean by default. Since I don't use a mobile and rely solely on my laptop I have a hardened Firefox and TOR for emergencies and the only APPS on my machine, at least that I use, are Teamviewer and Steam. I might decide to stop using Teamviewer because they recently changed so that they'll only let you use the account on a specific machine and I'm morally opposed to fingerprint "security". IMO you should be responsible for your own security and the service provider should pound sand.

Wouldn't run on pixel6pro, asle for full disclosure of my apps to some server somewhere.. they never say. Fdroid version gets a full block response by pixel6 as harmful software. Cure is worse than the disease, or so it seems.

Thank you for this video, but i had to uninstall exodus at the first use. This software wants to scan my machine and to send the result to remote servers. I do not accept this from a software intended to improve my privacy.
