I just bought it. I love the look, it's fabulous. The rendering is perfect, balancing personality and cleanliness. The sharpness from f.4 is more than sufficient. I have a feeling it's going to stay on my XT5 for a long time. As you say, a superb compromise between vintage and modernity. Thanks for your pleasant video.

I've been using the Voightlander 27mm f/2 for some time now, it's been permanently mounted to one of my X-T3 bodies. Looking at the lens in this video makes me wonder about the trade off of the size for one extra stop of aperture, especially if you need to stop down to get good sharpness. The Voightlander at f/2 is already pretty much fantastic in its rendering. I guess it's good to have choices, but I like small, all things being equal.

I’m with you on the size-completely agree. When I say it’s a bit soft, I don’t mean it’s not good; I just mean it’s not perfect. The lens is plenty sharp at f/1.4, sharper than most manual lenses I’ve used. I really need to test the Voightlander lens, I used it just for a couple of hours.

@AndreiDimaReviews The voightlander also has the advantage of being chipped for the Fuji. You can see the distance and DOF zone in the finder which makes everything faster on the street. Also, the chip allows the manual focus aids to activate as soon as you touch the focus tab, again speeding up the operation. I already had the Fujifilm XF 27mm f/2.8, and debated getting the Voightlander for a time, but now I can't imagine not having it. No regrets.

Alright, you’ve convinced me to give it a try! Right now, I’m in love with the Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8, but I’ll need to sell it to fund other lenses for review on the channel.

So, this is about 42mm full-frame equivalent? Looks lovely, but I think 35mm is my ideal focal length.

Chromatic abrations are correctable in post too? A bit tedious to do post work to fix these particular things, no?
@AndreiDimaReviews

@@pjeno007 Tedious? People have been correcting chromatic aberrations in post for a long time. Even premium lenses like the Fujifilm XF 33mm f1.4 exhibit chromatic aberrations. It’s not uncommon.

It’s way too big for a manual lens. The M mount version is considerably shorter. It’s also made for thinner sensors and not optimized for Fuji APSC sensors at all. And no electronic contacts. So why not buy a Voigtländer X-Mount lens for the same price which is made for Fuji-X Mount?
@stuartblink
@stuartblink 2 ай бұрын
@@NDakota79 the Voigtlander 27mm f2 is a nice small lens, but it’s a stop slower than the Thypoch. The M mount version of the lens is shorter but you would need to add M to X adapter- which will likely make it the same length of the X version.

Too big for an f/1.4 lens? I don’t think so. This lens also outperforms the Voigtländer, even though it was designed for a thinner sensor. But let me guess-you didn’t watch the video.

@ Yeah and I’m sure it has nothing to do with the video being sponsored by Thypoch 👍🏼

@@NDakota79 Haha, I wish I were sponsored by them, but I’m not-I don’t even get to keep the lens. But hey, you seem to know better. Let me guess, you just dislike Chinese lenses? I included plenty of examples and tests in the video to show this is a good lens. Why am I wasting my time arguing with you? You didn't watch the video!
