My partner is in for her partial thyroidectomy tomorrow in Bristol. She's been an absolute trooper with the procedure and the upcoming surgery whereas but I've been a total wreck. Your video has really helped me and I thank you for sharing. I hope everything worked out for you.

Just came across your video, thanks for sharing. I'm in for surgery on the NHS tomorrow (19th May) to remove my left thyroid after being diagnosed with lumps/nodules. Tbh I'm scared like hell, mainly because I have voice dysphoria and I'm worried that the surgeon might damage the laryngeal nerve that runs through the thyroid. I know I'm probably stressing over nothing, I sing too so yeah I'm kinda freaked out about the whole thing. Glad to see your surgery went well.

A friend of mine goes into hospital today for a thyroid op. Listening to this has settled my mind (many thanks!!) a little. It wouldn't bother me if the operation was being carried out on myself, but when its someone you care about it's different. My surgery is coming up in December for my left thyroid lobectomy. I have watched your video multiple times to put me at ease. I don't do well with medical procedures. Your video has been helpful and I will most likely watch it a couple times more until the day comes. I hope all is well with you.

thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. waiting for more biopsy results, after my first biopsy results show the possibility of cancer. so glad you are better, this video helps me to see if i get the bad news i do have cancer i can get through it!

They found my nodule on a CT scan after a car accident I was in, my FNA went to two labs, the first said indeterminate and the second said suspicious(Afirma).. I'm having a lobectomy on my right side and your video has really helped me calm down about it, thank you! Especially since you are younger and I'm 18 so I can relate better :)

Hi thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I need to have a second round of surgery and have a full thyroidectomy which I am going for tomorrow then I had a round of radiation therapy and then I should be cancer free. It's a slow progress. X

Great video, wish I had found this before my surgery. Do you struggle raising your voice when talking - not shouting ? In an environment like a pub is a nightmare! sometimes I speak and if it is the wrong pitch nothing comes out. Your scar looks so good compared to mine. I had my surgery NYE 2015 through the NHS. xx

I had mine out 3 1/3 months ago (pretty much the same). Uploading an update video which should be up tomorrow if your interested, within the next month your scar will fade sooo much!

Not totally. I will always have a slight husky voice now. You can compare to my latest videos and see what you think. It’s very slight but my speaking voice was never the same again. Two surgeries in 6 week didn’t help and having the lump growing for so long in my neck too. Hope that answers your question Xx
